Creating stairs from fluorescent lamps

Hey guys. Just trying to get an idea of how to do this. Stacking stuff up off the floor is something I'm quite familiar with. But stacking stuff down from the ceiling...not so much.

Also, just an FYI, a good 75-80% of the links in the consolidated base guide are now lost to purges.

I don't have the time to go into a huge amount of detail or even phrase things properly, but hopefully I can get the basics across... At least, how I accomplish light stairs.

First, I use hanging lamps to 'stack down' from the ceiling over the spot where I want the starting point to be. From there, you can stick a fluorescent light to the bottom of one of those. After that, if you use the large fluorescent light, you can just stack them below each other by careful positioning. If you still can't quite figure it out I'll see about making some pictures and diagrams to clear it up.

Actually found someone in BaseBuildersInc. awake tonight and got a HOWTO. Thanks.

There's a few ceiling light fixtures that work for this. I think the hanging lamps are the easiest tools to use when stacking down.

Just place one or more below each other like this:

You can use only 1 if you want, just keep dragging the same one below itself.

Then, when you get the desired height, place the top stair below the hanging lamp and work your way down.

Place each fluorescent light below the one before and then drag it out while keeping your mouse away from other lights.

You can drag ceiling items around at the placed height as long as you look down and keep your cursor from touching other ceiling items or room borders.

And here's something I'm currently working on that uses them:

What are the V-shaped supports for those railings?

Those are large desk lamps, placed so that they're facing opposite directions and overlap a little bit.
