I love that show. My condolences to his family.
One of my favorite shows.
The pilot is really interesting, as he was intended to be the focus of the show.
Very different show when not focusing on Col. Peacock, Mrs. Slocum and the amazing Mr. Humphries.
Are You Being Served has been a staple of viewing for years for just about everyone I know. I've never been that into Britcoms, but of course I've seen most of them because of everyone else's interest. I've probably watched this show more than any other and it's weird to think of the cast no longer being around. I saw Banister a few years ago and couldn't believe he was nearly 70.
I think only Capt. Peacock and Mr. Rumbold are still alive now.

Turns out Mr. Spooner is still alive, but he's not really part of the classic cast.

Always sad to see a fellow Trevor go.
Trevor Bannister died Thursday from a heart attack (age 76).
He played Mr. Lucas on the British sitcom Are You Being Served? & a brief stint on the Scifi series The Tomorrow People.
I remember from past threads there are quite a few Are You Being Served fans on this forum.
