Question regarding prepaid credit/debit cards
The only way you can get turned down for a green dot card is if they can't verify your name, birth date, social security number and address. That and you must be over 18.
As for the Walmart Money cards I believe they are also green dot cards and subject to the exact same restrictions.

That is strange because I filled it out correctly.
What are you mailing in? Take the card to the cash counter and say "put this money on it" and hand them money. They then proceed to put money on it.

The one I bought originally required you to fill in a little form on the thing you buy, then send it to them. They send you a working card in the mail in a few days. At least, that's how it's supposed to work.
If I can get confirmation that the WalMart Money Card works for purchases in the in-game store then I'll go get that since I don't have to mail anything for it, just have to fill stuff out online or over the phone or something.
When I did it, I got the GreenDot card from Wal-Greens and that's all I did. I took the card to the cash counter, gave them money, and walked away with a loaded GreenDot card.

I used to use a Master card-type prepaid credit card for the time between 2008-2010. I didn't get it from a store though. I issued it through a bank. I could pretty much do everything on the NCSoft store with it. Pay my monthly subscription, buy booster packs, or anything from the online store (character slots, rename tokens, transfer tokens). I'm not sure how you can get that on the other side of the world though, heh.
Funnily enough, now that I got myself a regular VISA card. My issuer have blocked NCSoft websites from ALL transactions on their cards because of numerous claims of fraud.
Also, if you can't get yourself one of those cards, using a PayPal account is still as plausible and works in the same way technically. Open up a bank account, and associate it with a new PayPal account. And only deposit whatever amount of money you want in your account to use, just like you would in a prepaid credit card. That would be my advice for a "quick fix" for your situation.

I use a Wal Mart money card for CoH. Ive paid for monthly game time, character transfers, character slots, and boosters with no issues. You will get a temporary card when you first purchase it,and have to fill out a form online to activate it to use. Then about ten days later you'll get your permanent card in the mail. I also used the temp card to pay for game time so it works just like the permanent card. Also ne need to buy a seperate card to load it,you can have it done at any register in Wal Mart. Only down side is you have to load at least twenty dollars at a time and it costs three dollars to load money onto it. Hope that helps.
Thank you everyone. Looks like I'm making a trip out to WalMart in the near future, assuming it's still there after these tornadoes.
When I can't get a time card from eb games, I buy a $25 prepaid visa or mastercard from a convenience store. Never had a problem yet with those types of cards... I use the leftover $ for "jumpstart" for my children Good luck with the walmart thing. I hadn't heard of this green dot card yet; then again I am rarely at walmart (maybe its not available in Canada yet.)
No, GreenDot is only in the US.

I've used greendot to pay for my subscription, booster packs, going rogue, just about anything NCSoft sells in it's CoH store.
You buy the card, load it with cash, then go online to activate your account. They send your pin seperate from your permanent card.
Wal-mart's money card is a slightly better deal with a 3 dollar load fee instead of $4.95.
I recommend going to a bank and getting a debit card. No monthly 5.95 fee, no load fees. No load minimums.

aaahh, okay, I got a re loadable MasterCard from Money Mart where I did my taxes 2 years ago,(it was free - only reason I agreed because regular you pay 20$ just for the card) - same idea, I guess, except that when you have money on the card, it debits $7.50 off it on the fifteenth of every month for "admin" fees, and it costs $2 every time you load it. That's why I never use it, or use it up right away.
A debit card in Canada is not accepted as a payment method, or I'd be never messing around with game time cards and throw away visas every month.

No my bank is not CIBC, and have been considering switching banks lately, so that is very useful to know Thank you!
For those that have used them, what type of cards have you used and what did you purchase from the in-game store?
I tried getting a green dot visa credit pre-paid, but Visa sent me a nice letter saying why I couldn't have one (actually, they didn't say 'why', they just said 'no') when I mailed the thingamajigger to them. They also sent me a refund of my money.
So, that venue is closed.
Now I'm looking at the Wal-Mart Money Card that is a prepaid debit card but I am not sure if it will work for the purchases I wish to make (a super booster & a character transfer) with it. I did a search and came up with someone saying that someone else meant a card like the Wal-Mart Money Card when they mentioned a charge for using a debit card.
Essentially I just want to know what I can get that will work here from people that have already used this sort of thing.
