Team Up Teleporter: LFG of 16 or 24 toons

Leagues have taken to forming up in co-op zones like Pocket D, the RWZ, or the Midnighter Club in order to get leagues of 16 or 24 going for the trials.

This has the potential to drive non-trial-seekers nuts, because we show up spamming broadcast or local and messing with the overall vibe of what might otherwise be going on in zone (RP, folks forming up zone TFs, or, erm, absolutely nothing). In particular, Pocket D is supposed to be a social space, and us trial hunters are messing with that.

It would be awesome if, when I enqueue via LFG, I could say that I wanted to wait for a 16 or 24 toon team. I don't really enjoy running trials with only seven other players. I want to be on a 16 toon Lambda or a 24 toon BAF. It's more fun, more mayhem, and more iXP.

So, it would rule if the team up teleporter gave me an option to wait around for that instead of getting all up in some other zone's biznass.

More search parameters for the LFG would be handy, aye.

Or a TP power to the RWZ given to people who...do something, I dunno. Being Incarante seems like a bit of a bum move, given how useful it could be.
Something like that though

Yes, this.

I've heard some amount of teeth gnashing about forming up in the D, but I have a flipping teleporter that takes me directly there.

It's great that folks are starting to use Midnighter's as something other than a route to the ITF, but it's just not as efficient as a handy dandy teleporter.

/signed for more options in LFG window.

How about a "volunteer as league leader button" to prevent folks who have never run one and don't know how to work the UI getting stuck with the star and being berated by their league mates to "pass it NAO!!!!!" Or worse yet not realizing they have star and leaving poor team 4 guy all by his lonesome with no ixp.

While that's an enticing option, this problem arises: If EVERYONE is waiting to join an established number of players already in a league, how is the league supposed to get that established number of players? Obviously, there are work-arounds, but that would be something to consider.

Personally, I wish we did not have to all be in the same zone. How convenient would it be to join a league, then during the approx. 5-10 (perhaps even more) spent looking for a full group, you could go to Wentworth's or something? Then *BOOP* the confirmation start prompt comes up, you hit yes, and zone in right from where you are. A "Board Train" mission allows people to zone in from different train stations around the city. I have to think it is theoretically possible, just maybe not in the specific example I gave.

But staying on topic... Yes, I think a teleport power would be nice. Perhaps the League Leader gets a one-time "Assemble the Team" temp power once he has acquired the minimum number of players for a given trial? And can summon people from across the game to his location in a co-op zone? I dunno, just throwin' in my two cents.

@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.

I don't think the OP meant existing league, but rather it wait until enough people were queued to form a new league with the desired number of members.

It's interesting because you've actually kind of hit on to two completely separate problems here that don't really have much to do with each other, and sorta tied them together in a way that, while it doesn't work...still highlights them both.

Problem #1 is the whole "league starts when you hit the minimum" bit. Having a "wait for more" option seems like it'd be nice. I could see it being annoying for some though desirable to others. While I personally do feel it's broken, I'm not sure how the Devs could fix it in a way that actually makes it effective.

Problem #2 is more about the whole zone-encroachment thing. This, on the other hand, seems very easy to fix ("seems" being the operative term here; standard code rant applies). Ideally, it feels like it should be possible to allow pre-formed Leagues not to have to all be in the same zone to start an event. It's already the case that individuals using the LFG tab don't have to all zone into the same place before starting a raid. Allowing the same convenience to be extended to pre-formed leagues would mean there would be no need to crowd everyone around Lady Grey and interfere with Mothership Raids and the like.

Mmm..

I suggested this in another thread...

Why not let leaders invite folks into league, regardless if they are red or blue and what zone they may currently be at. Then once the leader is satisfied withthe mix and numbers of the trial team, then go to the LFG tab and commence the trial. Players in the trial team, will get the little choose screen, we get, to enter the trial; regardless of were we are. If we are inside a mission,it still comes up and if we accept, it automatically takes us out of the mission we were doing.

This is a simple player friendly suggestion, enabling the server chats to be used as they are now for normal TF/SF activity.
