Hero turned villain, what do I need to know, badge-wise?

I looked through the forums and couldn't find an answer, if someone knows where another thread that covers this subject, please feel free to inform me.

My badge toon recently went villain in an attempt to get all the villain badges he can, before he returns to hero. He might go Vigilante or Rogue at some point permanently, but until then, I have to find all the badges I can only get while being a Villain. I know there are some you can get from one of the three other alignments, but I am not informed enough to know which ones are Villain only. I know that the Architect badge Villainous is Villain only, and have gotten it.

Basically, I am trying to maximize my badge gain while I am Red-side as I would like to return to Blueside as quick as possible. I am unable to team with the people I would usually team with on this character, because they are all blue-side players.

Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.

(If there is just a list of badges that are only attainable to villains that would work, but if anybody wouldn't mind making a guide to how to obtain some of these badges I wouldn't mind that either.)

plan on staying villain for at least a 2 months since there are a few villain only day jobs

most of the other ones can be gotten fairly easily if you have a group to run with or can be gotten while vigilante/rogue anyway

This list is helpful, but I found it lacking in one way, it doesn't accurately describe which ones can ONLY be gained by a villain. For instance, I was told that the SF related badges are only attainable if you are a villain, even if you can get credit otherwise. I was also told that you can't get the "Jail Bird" badge as a non-villain either.

Here is a link to a thread discussing some of that, but it seems vague, and was wondering if there was more info to be had. It lists:

* Efficiency Expert
* Bloodletter/Mirage/Spider's Kiss/The Stinger, plus the associated gladiator
* Usurper
*The Day Job badges are also amongst this list. You can get progress on them as Vigilante/Rogue, but only get them when you fully cross over.
*"Helping Hand" and "Keeper of the Coral" badges for completing the 2 new I19 arcs (Roy Cooling on Blue and I forget on red) require you to be a Hero or Villain.
This, is where the list ends, and I've compiled it from a few posts in the thread

My main issue is this seems fairly incomplete, and I was hoping someone had a more complete list. Or that they could verify my list is complete. It's time consuming to become a villain (and the timer doesn't even affect me as I can't play that much at once usually) So I really am hoping I'll never need to take him villain again. I love the switching system, but I prefer my badger to be blueside, and if further villain badges come out after I've gotten them all, it wouldn't be so bad to spend a week or two fixing that problem, but i'm looking at a considerable time investment if I try to get ALL the villain side badges before I switch back.

EDIT: Also, I realized a possible solution to me, but it is somewhat annoying. If being available to my friends is of utmost importance, I suppose I could go rogue for awhile, while earning credit for a large number of the badges, and then coming round the wheel back to villain eventually, but some of these badges only appear to be possible to earn as a villain, even counting credit, based on being the mission holder. Even doing this, I realize it is most likely going to take almost a year to attain all the villain badges, as a few of them are day jobs and are time consuming.

For a full list of side specific badges, see this post:

It has one or two that Black Scorpion missed in his post on the subject.

You can earn credit for the villain day jobs while still a vigilante; you just don't get the badge until you go over to the dark side. Same goes for being a rogue in Paragon City; I've done all the day jobs that way, and they reward automatically when you switch over.

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

Apart from a few mission badges where you have to be the mission holder, the original poster could work on badge progress while being a vigilante or rogue (both of which can team with heroes). You earn day job credit as either, but are only awarded the badge when you fully switch. If you want to have all the badges you'll have to spend 7 days for each alignment anyway.

So go from hero to vigilante. Start parking at day job locations in the Rogue Isles. Get the explores and team up to do the Strike Forces. Still team with hero friends, even if they think you smell funny as a vigilante.

After you get all the vigilante alignment badges, go from vigilante to villain. Do flashbacks to earn all the mission badges, do enough safeguards to get Pilther as a contact (if level 45+), do the patron arc of your choice, parking at day job locations for credit.

At the end of 7 days you should have the villain alignment badges. Go villain to rogue. Continue to collect villain badge mission badges/patron badges/day job credit. Still team with hero buddies, even if they don't fully trust your motives as a rogue.

Choice after 7 days: change to hero and try to quickly get back to vigilante status to continue day job progress (you'll have to go villain to the badges, then rogue and beyond) to team with friends or stay as a rogue until day job badges are done.

Thank you Snow Globe, while all the posts were helpful, your's included Exactly what I was looking for. I am already villain, but I will move to rogue as soon as I am ready so that I may team with my buddies again. I can come back to villain once I am positive I have earned the badges for logging out, and I will be getting the Mayhem Missions etc while I am still villain if possible. If I understand you correctly I should be able to team with my buddies within a week if I am quick about getting those.

Thanks everybody!

One thing to remember, and this is very important for badge-hunters....you only have ONE chance to get the Efficiency Expert badge from Mr. Pither. If you fail, you cannot get it any other way. You need to complete timed mishes in order to get the badge, so if you might be interrupted for any reason, try this badge later.

Thank you for this Info Bohmfalk, I was not aware of this. I do want to maximize my badgecount, I have missed enough non-replaceable badges as it is. This will help in my quest for badge greatness.
