What is the best way to make money as a 50 MM?

Hi folks,

Jax the newb here. I just posted a very similar question in player help, but I thought I'd ask this question specifically to MM's, as that's the toon I'm playing (and want to focus on heavily), and have at 50. For the record, it's a Robo/FF/Mace MM, fully outkitted with 50 IO's and starting to get set IOs. I also have Alpha damage T1 and Judgment cold T2, so he's pretty good at mowing down groups and completing missions.

But yes - what would you suggest is the best way for a player to make as much money per hour as possible on a 50 MM? Best being a combination of the amount of money per hour as well as how easy it is to accomplish.

For the record, I'm more than willing to change one of my specs to a 'farm' spec if something like Teleport or Stealth is required for superior farming.

Thanks in advance for any help - I really appreciate it!

Jax

I would work on getting your level shift. That helps out tons

Make sure you and the pets are defense soft capped or somewhere in that vein.

I would just start a pick up group for Fire cyborgs or whatever farm mish is big atm. Collect the tickets and roll for random bronze rolls. Sell them on AH.

Doing regular Portal farms is good as you can get lucky with some purple drops. But your sort of governed by the number of recipes you can hold. Tickets you can hold 9999 and you can drop recipes on the WW next to AE in Atlas or Cap.

I Pretty much picked up all my purples from TF and believe it or not running a radio mission at max to get my tip missions.

If your into the BM/WW market mini game, then you can play the market and do it that way. I have no patience for it and thinking about even doing it pisses me off. That how much I hate the market.

And finally Tip missions. 2 hero/villain merits gets you a LOTG +Recharge which can sell for 100 million or more depending on the market. Or collect 30 and buy a PvP +3 Def IO and make 2.5 to 3 billion. That would take you 60 days to do.

The best place to farm inf is in TFs and in AE farms. The ITF is very popular for farming reward drops, because each map comes with LOTS of Romans, Nazis, and Purple Fuzzies to kill. At 50, your XP is converted into inf, so each kill earns you inf by the bucketful, and each completion inf by the truckload.

You will get lots of salvage and recipe drops. Use the Vault Reserve and Email to store whatever salvage and recipes you can use yourself, sell the rest.

Also, DO NOT listen to anyone venting about the market requiring any amount of patience. You do not need to do any kind of complicated math skills to make a profit off of it. You can be in and out of the market in ten minutes or less, depending on how much stuff you have in your inventory.

Selling everything for 10 inf pretty much makes everything a guaranteed sale. No effort required on your part. Plus, you helped someone get that ultra rare IO recipe for 1,000,000 inf instead of 100,000,000. Way to brighten the day of some poor sucker, hero!

Tips mishes have been good to me, especially for toons I haven't completely IO'd out yet. Presumably you're earning inf to get stuff for your toons, but it can be faster to just buy your own LotGs etc. with alignment merits.

Whether you go with AE, TFs or tips, do yourself a favour when selling recipes and check the price of the recipe and the crafted IO. Sometimes there's a good inf to be made by crafting our drops before selling.

Don't tell the guy to sell EVERYTHING for 10 INF when you know other marketeers always bid 1 INF for any item first. He would be giving away a 1 to 300 Million IO for 1 INF to someone that might be a bit more savvy in the market. Further you would have players just buying his 10 INF IO just to vendor sell for a profit.

Though I understood what you meant the OP might haven not.

if your going say something like that then you should go a bit further to explain or point to the market forums for some insight. But telling someone sell all your stuff for 10 INF is a sure way of getting him/her burnt.

And selling stuff on the market is different from the market game. The market games involves flipping and cornering market on popular IO sets and such.

I always post salvage for 5 inf, and I check recipes for bids/history. If someone is bidding on a recipe that isnt worth much they can have it for 5 (or higher). If the recipe has a high selling history, but no current bids Ill post if for what I think I can get out of it. Other recipes go to the stores. It works well enough and takes very little time/effort.

To make real $$ use merits from TFs or hero/villain merits to buy luck of the gambler global rech, numinas/miracle +end/+rec etc... whatever seems to be selling highest at the time. Check whether the recipe or the enhancement is selling for more and sell accordingly. Certainly you wont make money as fast as some hardcore farmer, but you can work on getting incarnate goodies at the same time. Seriously, who actually WANTS to farm anyway? Dont make the game into a chore

Do a bit of everthing. Run the special TF of the week. Do your 5 hero/villain tip missions for the special reward merits.

Most of the time I make the most influence when I am sleeping. No kidding. I memorize the level 25/30 recipe for damage, recharge, end redux, (heal and accuracy can be pricey for components.) Then I craft 10 level 30 dmg (or one of the memorized recipes) IO enhancers and sell them for 300K each. If your schedule gets too busy to refresh every day, it's no biggy, you just restock your shelves when you get to play again. Don't pay more than 30k for components. If you have to run some AE missions for AE salavage tickets, it's more variety in the action.

I don't like to skip Rikti zone raid events either. I have had some juicy drops from those from time to time. All the targets, all the AoE damage give you greater potential for a really juicy drop.
