Trials and they changed it to for the Apex and Tin Mage TFs there you get awarded 2 threads instead of shards. I believe those are the only way to get the threads.
I can't confirm it because I have been busy running the two trial to open my new powers but I seem to recall reading someplace that when 20 went live the Tin Mage and Apex TF would start to drop threads. The others are pre-existing Task Forces from before the Incarnate system and I think they plan to leave them alone for anyone still working towards tiers on their Alpha slot.
Anyone else remember seeing anything about TM and Apex dropping threads?

10 shards to 10 threads once every 20 hours
10 shards to 5 threads no time restriction
honestly thats prolly the best way to do it since shards are literally pointless once you get the alpha you want
