whats the best tactic for getting that badge to go on and get MO?

keep moving or stay by door?

Option 3: Cheat.

The tactic I've used to get it is to use temporary powers to take Director 11 out really quickly. He doesn't start summoning mines for about 30 seconds so if you can take him out in that time frame it's easy to get the badge.

Basic strategy (originally stolen from Leandro IIRC):
1. Enter but leave the glowies until he timer runs down
2. Kill the three waves of warworks that come out
3. Clear all but 1 glowie (ideally one near his spawn point)
4. Summon temp pets (especially Shivans and HVAS if you have them)
5. Use Biological Mutagens temp powers
6. Grab the last glowie
7. When Director 11 Spawns drop Chemical Burn and Nuclear Blast temp powers on his head and lead the shivans towards him.
8. Profit!

Ideally you want at least 6 shivans/HVAS pets and 2-3 people with warburg nukes.

If you want to get it the "proper" way I'd advise a mostly ranged team and fly as much as possible. Kill the other malta quickly since their web grenades wreak havoc with this tactic though.

Was able to do it with just 2 biological mutagens and 2 Chemical Burns. Had about 4 rads on the team so that might have helped

Just got this today on a team that decided to try for it without any advance preparation. Most of the team had Shivans. One person had an HVAS. The team happened to have 3 /rads.

On a team I organized specifically to get this badge, we took him down in 11 seconds. We had probably 15 temp pets plus multiple bio and chemical missiles. Just remember: If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough of it.

the 2 times ive done this badge, the one time we loaded up on nukes and everything and took him down in like 20 seconds

the 2nd time i did this was prolly sheer luck since we werent planning it, but the team had a lot of debuff (if i remember a kin, 2 cold doms, and a sonic resonance) and prolly took him down within 2 min

overall though this badge takes a lot of luck, if everyone on the team is softcapped then it will make it a bit easier, but there is no 100% guarenteed method to earn the badge, but the above "cheating" method has proven the most successful

to clarify, is it to avoid taking damage from mines or avoid getting hit at all?

I recall it's not being damaged, although it certainly helps if they're not triggered at all. From pwiki: All teammates must avoid taking any damage from mines set by Director 11's invisible pets in the first mission of the Tin Mage Task Force. I'm no expert, but I've received this even when not trying.

I've done it 3 different ways.

1. Summon pets, everyone stays outside except 1-2 players who enter, get all the glowies. Those players then aggro D11 to the door and everyone enters or is ported inside, drop buff nukes (sometimes this is done outside the door). Pets aggro, and you try create a wall of players to make it hard for D11 to run away. Drop debuff nukes and disintegrate D11 before the minelayer gets to the corner.

2. Summon pets, enter, clear all glowies, except one on the west wall, closest to where he spawns. Attack and also let pets do a ton of damage and buff/debuff drop nukes on team and him.

3. Enter, clear all glowies, except one on the west wall, closest to where he spawns, then with most of us flying, defeat him. No temp pets, no uber team (at least not intentionally it was just a PUG TM without X build requirements), just mostly people flying, although tank was grounded. We did manage to defeat him probably within 60 seconds.

The general rule is that time is key. Probably with more 50+1s running around it's easier. Might wanna recommend that people slot their Musculatures if they have them before entering the mission. Any added dmg is good. The longer you wait the more impossible the situation becomes.

Final note, I think there's a 50% chance to hit if a bomb is triggered, although that might be mitigated by using purple inspirations. Certainly popping 4-20 purples won't hurt :P Either you get him within 90 seconds or you fail has been my experience.

A few hours of preparation isn't cheating. It's called dropping the hammer.
