With what I'm hearing about the incarnate trials, I'm thinking I may need more defense than 47%. I have the Cardiac Alpha slotted now, which means I could drop recovery bonuses for extra defense or recharge.

Speaking of Alpha slots, is Cardiac the recommended path for MA/SR, or should I go for the recharge in Spiritual and focus on recovery set bonuses? Spiritual would make Hasten closer to perma (with the attendant increased endurance usage of course.)

Here's a build I threw together. The beauty of SR is being able to soft cap with little to no effort. A lot of toggles with the added Leadership pool and I would have Sprint and Ninja Run on during fights.

If influence is no object, breakdown Health and Physical Perfection and 3 slot Focused Fighting, Focused Sense, Evasion and place 3 Shield Wall pvp enhancements in each (def/end, def/end/rec and def) just for the added hitpoints. Also move the LoTG +7.5% rech to Agile, Dodge and Lucky.

If you want healing, replace EC and Tactics for the Medicine power pool and move the set of Gaussian's to Focus Chi.

This toon actually looks kind of fun, I should roll one out myself. I'll name him Breeze Lu (Ala Finishing the Game).

If I were building an end-game Super Reflexes, these days I'd shoot for 60% defense or so. Mind you, there are lots of team buffs. I am at least frequently over the minimum necessary starting at 45% even. Heck, I'm frequently over 100% defense. Just not often enough that I'd want to count on it.

The counter argument, I'd think, is that for those few times you aren't massively buffed, carrying purples covers the gap. I think loading up on purples is standard practice. So there's no reason to wreck your damage output or other aspects of your build chasing an exact defense figure that, in a league, may be nearly meaningless.

Edit: Also, based on my experience so far, the two most important factors in success are teamwork and knowing what to do, particularly on the Lambda Trial. Your having 45% vs. 59% defense is pretty insignificant in comparison. Of course uber builds help, but lack of uber builds probably isn't nearly as detrimental as doing the wrong things or failing to do the right things.

Mind you, in the temp power collection phase of Lambda, the groups very frequently seem to get a bit scattered, which is very dangerous. Being able to survive solo, at least for long enough to get back to the group or vice versa, is quite useful. I suspect that will be less of a problem over time. People will probably eventually memorize a pattern, and everyone will just go the same way every time. Not sure, though. Rules like "follow your lead Tanker" sound great on paper, but when your lead Tanker takes the wrong bank of elevators and gets completely separated from the group, you kind of have to improvise. I seem to be very off topic. I'm going to shut up now.

In my experience 45ish defense plus whatever lucks randomly drop are good enough for both trials most of the time. Where it tends to fall apart is when you're the lone target of a lot of psionic attacks, many of which won't be positional. Like if you decide to solo a crate or containment tube.

Otherwise, you won't be indestructible, but to be honest in the trials nothing is. If you get to the point that 9CUs have so much defiance they are shredding your defense, they will probably also be shredding everyone else.

The goal is to fill out SK with Hecatombs, with the ToD proc. I'm only running the base Cardiac Alpha right now, as I really have no idea what direction to take. Any advice would be appreciated!

Alright, Im gonna kinda necro this page 2 thread because its exactly what my momma told me to do (which is actually based on the fact this is what Im currently working on actually a MA/SR).


So couple of quick questions. Im looking to boost up my build as well and get her END management a little more under control and all but one thing that stuck out was that most of these builds 5 slot focused accuracy w/Gauss' yet Chi is available so much earlier and you can use those 5 there much earlier. Why not just do so there w/a power you're going to have most of your career? I dont know maybe its just me, I play alot of lower level content and do alot of mid-level stuff where FA would be greyed out, or am I missing something about FA-Chi?

Second, I've never actually posted a build from Mids to here so whats the easiest way to do so? Do you just build from memory (alt-tab) and then copy/paste over to here?

Not sure if this is any help, but I have been running this build with some success. I took Musculature as my Incarnate and pretty much solo'ed all the Praetorian AV's except Nightstar and some like Chimera and Bobcat were very easy.
