Ice/storm Vs Fire/storm

Which would be better? Ice/storm for insane amounts of -recharge and slow, or a fire/storm to keep slowpokes roasting in AoE damage?
I usually avoid power guides and just make what fits my character concept, but Im having a hard time deciding between these two.


*by better I mean kill the most enemies without getting killed.

Hi,
Here is my fire/storm corruptor. I will post the build just to give you some thoughts. I tried to get as much ranged defense as I reasonably could, as the build has Oppressive Gloom, Hurricane and Gale all as options if something gets too close.

My ranged defense is at 35% but you can easily raise it to forty by completeing the Thunderstrike set on Blaze and Lightning Storm, I just wanted the Range on Blaze and the Hold proc on Lightning Storm.

This spec definitely needs the Cardiac (endurance) because of the Fighting pool toggles and /storm.

Here is a build for an Ice/Storm I just did up real fast. It has 34% ranged, and again will need the Cardiac with all the toggles. Lots and lots of storms if you have thoughts about being a weather control character!

The AOE hold is nice for keeping mobs in your storms.

I'll vote Fire. For AOE rain magic, Rain of Fire/Snow Storm/Freezing Rain should keep pretty much everyone from wandering out of the damage field. Take Mace Mastery and grab the Web Envelope power. If you're really worried about people wandering out of your rain effect, that's got yet more slow and an immobilize to boot.

I have a Fire/Storm that's pretty insane. The AoE damage is just plain nasty and it has better ST damage than Ice.

Ice gets controls, much better slows and -recharge.

However, /Storm can come pretty close to capping slow and -rech through Snow Storm and Freezing Rain so much of Ice's slow potency is overkill. Granted, Snow Storm takes an extra action and is slow animating.

Fire will be far superior against minions and lts as it melts them away before Ice would be able take its theoretical advantage of its slow and -rech. Ice theoretically gets a bonus against bosses where its holds, slows and -rech has time to take effect, but /Storm has enough other tools to mitigate bosses on its own (Hurricane, Tornado).

I have a high level ice/energy blaster, ice/traps corr, and fire/storm corr.

My vote is for fire/storm. Then again, fire blast/storm is a combination I've wanted since issue 3.

Fire/storm will melt things away faster, but if you place a priority on staying safe, I have to toss my vote into the ice/storm hat. Ice blast will have mitigation in its slows that fire lacks through its additional damage.
Of course, /storm is chock full of slowy goodness, but I imagine a fully leveled and slotted ice/storm corr would be a bonafide jr controller. So yes- an ice/storm to avoid being killed.
