In contrast, I find Frost the least skippable, since it's a pretty healthy portion of your AoE damage throughput. It's also possible to slot Range into the power, increasing its reach out to 14-15 ft ... which also happens to be approximately your native jump height with inherent hurdle. Doing "hop-shots" where you jump straight up, so as to point the cone DOWN onto your target turns Frost into a PBAoE-ish power that stands a much better chance of hitting the target cap and thus getting that much more efficient at turning time and endurance into damage throughput.

Not exactly It 3pts more then footstomp. (base damage) Close enough

My First 50 here was a FA/IM tanker. The biggest call was the Ice Patch + Burn combo.

I have to say SD/Ice sounds like a nice combo. I would suggest going ether Mu or Soul as a Epic for a nice ST attack with some kick (Gloom or Mu lightning).

SD/Ice/Soul would be a very solid biuld.

Main: Praetor Imperium Elec/SS/Mu

Frost has a higher DPA (and double the DPE) than FA (and FF too, while we're at it). If you're hitting the same amount of mobs, Frost is a superior power to FA (of course you're gonna hit more mobs w/FA, but still...). If you hit 2 mobs, it's a better attack than IS & GIS. If you hit 3 mobs, it's a better attack than FT. 15' range (w/decent frankenslotting for +range) is nothing to sneeze at, and if you can't hit 3 or more mobs w/Frost, you're just not trying.

DPE? DPA? What, is this the dark days of fixing Ice Melee all over again when we had to use math? I hate math! I go by my gut and my instincts, and they say Frost is the most skippable! And my gut is probably wrong. But hey, can't not play for a year and a half and expect to still be good at something.

I like the idea of jump-attacking using Frost. =^-^=b

I usually refer to the tactic as "Hop 'n' Pop" ...

Wow, long time, glad to see you are back. Frost is a cup of tea power IMO. Some hate it, some love it. Personally, way back before Frozen Aura was changed and made awesome, I used to use it often as my only power I could do multi target damage (short of single target bugs and mob stacking... I miss the old days) As for math, I have all but stopped posting elaborate spreadsheets and going thru mathematical computations to prove points. Its easier just to not say anything

heh, haven't heard that in a while. I like to call it leap frogging but whatever works.

In my own opinion and I have said it for years, Greater Ice Sword is the most skippable.
