EU vs US Client
i know if your using the ncsoft launcher it doesnt really matter which client you are running
in terms of merging the lists, i think its more of a marker on the account than the actual game, although i dont know exactly how much work will need to go into this to make it work
I decided to try launching my US client with the flag -project eucoh, and it started up with the EU splash screen/settings (bah, stupid default full screen resolution!). I tried to login, and it actually let me, but only showed 1 green server named 'UNKNOWN'... so sounds like there's at least a few differences. When I tried clicking the server, I eventually got the usual DB error.
I wonder if EU and US have the same login server we all go through?

I think at the very least the differences would include French and German language support.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
When I came back to the game last year I accidentally downloaded the EU client. I'm in the UK but all my characters are on the US servers. The computer I installed to had no existing installation of CoH.
I realised my mistake when I saw the server list so I downloaded the US launcher and kicked that off instead. The game started up immediately without seeming to download anything.
My conclusion would be that the two clients are probably identical and if they are not then the differences are so small that I didn't even notice the download.
In Paragon City since June 2005.
Since the EU and US server lists are being merged, that got me wondering two things:
What differences are there between the European client and the US client? (I'm fairly certain the differences are more than just the US client is started with -project coh and the EU one uses -project eucoh) I thought I read some stuff about the EU client including extra support for foreign languages (although that might just be translations). And, if there are differences... any idea if we'd be able to use either version of the client once the merger happens? |

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
