Storm/Sonic/x Advice

Commando

I'm considering making a second build for my Storm/Sonic/x Defender who'll primarily be in zone or pickup teams or occasional 1 on 1s. I have 0 experience with pvp in its current incarnation so I'd like to pose a few questions.

1) Is it worth the time and investment on a Defender? Isn't a corruptor a better choice?

2) Herdicane used to be pretty decent back in the day - how is Herdicane now? (Can one "pin" another player in the corner say in the office map for example)

3) From what I've read one needs to build keeping in mind 41 points of KB protection / use sets that boost total HP (Titanium in RES powers and Devastations in the blasts) / movement (SS + CJ + slotted Swift + slotted Hurdle)

4) Build suggestions and Power choices ? Power Mastery (for Power Buildup/Temp Invul/Force of Nature/Total Focus) or Electricy Master (for PSink / Charged Armor).

Power choices such as Leadership vs Medicine / Siren's song (would it be handy vs say Bubbled MMs).

I'll post a build up with slotting once I get home (although I know for the blasts for example I'd go with 2 Tstrikes and 3 Devastations).

Thanks in advance.

Debatable, but normally ppl go with corrs because of scourge. Defenders do have better buffs and debuffs though (also debatable whether that is a significant enough factor in post i13 pvp)

For powersets with no repel protection, yes still possible. Only downside is that hurricane can be detoggle with a simple stun/sleep/hold.

As you can see with the build psyrene posted, yes. All of this is very well covered in it. He has great affordable builds that I have used on a few of my toons or adjusted to fit what I was wanting.

There are def a different ways to go. Doing something more then a simple hold or attack and the shield will be very situational though. Really would come down to preference and what you would shift around to fit it in the build

Again, playstyle and whatever play into this. Sirens song got hit with the mex changes just like everything else.. so not really a huge advantage, but great for set bonus'

Wit the the Defender's new vigilance (damage boost) and stronger debuffs. Defender is the way to go. The reason you see way more cold/dark defenders than dark/cold corruptors is because of these two factors. The Defender is a very mean opponent to face in 1 vs 1s. If you add Powerboost to the Defender the sauce is mucho caliente !

If Defenders had thermal, I would roll a thermal Def over a thermal Corruptor. For Cold, I prefer a Defender over a Corruptor any day, any time. So I would roll Storm defender over corruptor if I was not teaming.

Repeat Offenders forever !

Make all IO's available in Paragon Market! NCSoft, the chinese are making BIG money selling influence and other stuff in the game. Best way to stop them = make the paragon market a place to buy all IO's and perhaps other things as well.
