P.E.R.C. Presents: Inter-Dimensional Fashion Show
Every Wednesday @ 10 P.M. Eastern

What:
A costume contest with a different theme every week!

When:
Judging begins at: 10 P.M. Eastern / 9 P.M. Central / 8 P.M. Mountain / 7 P.M. Pacific
Arriving a few minutes early is encouraged and appreciated! If you're late, we cannot guarantee that you'll be counted during judging.

Where:
Pocket D, out on the dance floor. The line will be formed just in front of the platforms surrounding the supergroup base portal.

Who May Participate:
Any character, any level, any alignment. The only requirement is that you show up wearing a costume that falls into that week's theme!

Prizes:
3rd Place: 40 million inf.
2nd Place: 60 million inf.
1st Place: 100 million inf.

Additional Info:
1) Powers and Emotes are allowed (so long as they don't affect others).
Feel free to draw your weapons, toggle up, or strike a pose! The only request here is that you avoid using powers that affect other players' costumes, such as Grant/Group Invisibility, Steamy Mist, Dispersion Bubble, or Ice/Thermal shields. If you would like to display these abilities, please feel free to use them on the event organizer, R-Tech. If you're not sure whether a power you have is allowed, go ahead and ask! Using a power that affects others may exclude you from being judged.

2) There is a one (1) week waiting period between contest victories.
This means that, if you place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in a costume contest one week, you won't be eligible to win the next week. You are still welcome to participate and show off your costume, you just won't win a prize. After the waiting period is up you are eligible to win again! This is in place to make sure that everyone has a fair chance to win.

3) Unless noted, bios will not be taken into account.
I love a well-written bio, but these contests are focused on costumes that suit a weekly theme. If you like the idea of ocassional bio contests though, let me know!

If I tell jokes at the one on May 30, will I have a better chance of winning?

Yay, Infinity Taxis!!!
Try my City without Taxis story (1679) if you get a chance and let me know what you think!

Right! Thanks for adding that Herc. I had shortened it due to size restraints, but I think from now on I'll either add the full name to the image or add a text list in the post itself. While I'm at it, I want to make sure I have the name spelling right: "Void" is "Void Emissary" correct?

It might help. The theme is supposed to coincide with April Fool's Day, so I'm all for some light-hearted jokes. I might even give out a special prize just for that!

Thank you again for hosting the P.E.R.C IDFS Costume Contest. It was a good time, and it was very gracious to be awarded 20 mil influence for Honerable Mention (Turbosped). Thank you again!

Just wanted to say that I think this is a great idea!

Now, if only I had that time slot open to show up...

Gonna do my best for the 20th of next month, tho.

Also, if you want to do a bio contest, I would happily support it, with funds if nothing else.
Nothing is quite so amusing as a short, catchy bio. I would gladly contribute inf to see a few.

Thanks Casual, that is very much appreciated on both accounts!

I'd be very happy to make one week a bio contest. Actually, what time would make it easier for you to attend? I could either adjust the schedule for "Biography Week" or host a separate contest specifically for it. And, if you'd be willing, I'd love to have you there to help judge it!

Let me know what works for you and we'll see what we can make happen.

Hmmmm.

Right now, Monday evenings seem to be the time I'm most likely to have free.

R-Tech, if you could arrange a Monday bio contest, I'd be happy to judge and plunk down inf for prizes like the ones given out in the CC. 100 million 1st, 50 million second, 25 million 3rd?

Just let me know which Monday you'd like to run it on, and I'll do my best to be there!

Sounds great, Casual. I'll also chip in influence for prizes. Would Monday the 11th at 10 PM Eastern be okay?

The Clown / Jester CC is in a little over 20 minutes! The CC will be followed by a "Best Joke" mini contest. See you there folks!

Great showing tonight everyone! I hope you all had a lot of fun; I know that I did! Many thanks again to Belle for the Best Joke contest idea. There were a few times that I laughed til I had a coughing fit.

Winners for the "Clowning Around" CC:

1st Place: Flare
2nd Place: Clown
3rd Place: Taxibot Belle
Honorable Mention: Harlequin Ballestra

Winners for the joke contest:

1st Place: Righteous Mime (60 mil)
2nd Place: Tormenta del Fuego (30 mil)
3rd Place: Taxibot Belle (15 mil)

Taxibot Belle's Joke
So I was talking to my friend Luminary the other day, and she told me this story. She was at the Paragon City Museum of Natural History. You know, the one with the displays of dinosaur skeletons? She was standing there looking at a Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton, and one of the visitors thought she worked there. He walked up to her and said, "Excuse me, do you know how old that skeleton is?" She said, "It is sixty-five million, three years, eight months, and ten days old."

"Wow, that's amazing! Did you do some kind of really technical analysis to discover that?"

She answered, "No, Rebecca Brinell told me that it was sixty-five million years old, and that was three years, eight months, and ten days ago."

Tormenta del Fuego's Joke
On his way home from work, a man notices a robot in a shop for sale. Curious, he goes in to take a look. A salesman wanders up and says, "I see you've noticed our Truthtron 3000! This baby is literally a walking lie detector. Go ahead, test it.""How?"asks the man. "Just tell a lie." So the man says, "I'm the president of the United States." The robot promptly walks over and slaps him. Impressed the man says, "I'll take it!"

That night he goes home to find his son isn't back yet, and it's past his curfew. Two hours later, the boy returns as his mother and father are eating dinner. Upon entering the living room, he notices there's a robot sitting on the table. A little weirded out, the boy sits down before his set plate and begins to apologize.

"Mom, Dad, sorry for being late. I was at the library with Kyle doing research for a last minute project. Time escaped us." The Robot stands up, walks over, and smacks the boy out of his chair. His father laughs and says, "Boy, that's not just any robot - he's a lie detector! You'd better tell the truth." His son says, "I was at Billy's house watching The Last Supper." The robot whirls around and smacks him again. Crying a little, the boy says, "Alright! We watched a rated R movie!"

Satisfied, his father chastises him. "You shouldn't lie to your parents, boy. When I was your age, I never lied to my parents!" At this, the robot whirls around and whacks the father. Laughing, the mother says, "Don't be too hard on the boy. He is your son, after all." The robot walks over and knocks her out of her chair.
