i20's effects on a VEAT

I know it's not released, but....

I mean, I figured people here are able to browse the forums and see the new incarnate abilities coming out.

How do you think these new powers will effect your builds? or will they even change them at all?

Personally, I'm going to take the reactive interface power, regardless of whether it's going to be used a lot. and possibly Respec out of Mu and go back to soul once judgement comes out, because I wont have the gap in AoE power I did previously.

For the destiny I know a LOT of people are going for barrier, will this tone down our effectiveness as walking forcefields? or will a VEAT with barrier destiny be considered the ultimate in defensive team buffing?

Will the lore pets turn the balance of things?

What are you planning?

I can see the maxHP and heal being very useful on my widow, without changing her build. It's really the only thing she's missing. Resistance is nice too of course, but as you say it's likely many will pick Barrier, so with some luck it could be the best of both worlds on teams.

Banes could get more interesting with Lore, seeing as they can stack -60% res rather easily on a single target. I've never seen Call Reinforcements to be that useful, because they tend to run in melee and die, but the Lore pets, thanks to MM commands, are much more survivable and stay at range when told to do so.

Haven't been monitoring the boards a whole lot but did see the screencaps of these new slots. Is it confirmed that these will be released during I20?

I have no intention of derailing this thread, I just wasn't sure if I missed some big news.

I'll probably be grabbing Barrier, the -Res proc, don't know the difference on the Judgement stuff, and I'll be grabbing the IDF lore pet. Battle Orbs look cool.

Edit: Just saw the newer screens in the I20 Beta section... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Interesting. I like how the second Barrier does a x2 ally res. However, I think I'll probably be going with one of the heal pbaoes. Considering I'm pet heavy, even moreso with lore, I think I'll gain more of a benefit from the heal/regen for my pets. If the +hp applies to my pets, even better. For pets I'll either go with battle orbs or IDF (I thought they were the same). IDF is a pretty cool looking group aesthetically and I think they may fit my theme more than clocks. For Interface, I think Reactive is the definite winner.

Currently on Virtue:
Jinrazuo - Crab Spider

RWZ All-Pylon Solo Run

I just quickly read through the list. Oh my... they look quite complicated!

The first thought on my mind is that my Fortunata can probably use another "mini nuke" power in Judgement (only 90s recharge). It will be fun to have Psychic Wail and another nuke, although Judgment is a cone... mmmm...(I am assuming we can change the Slots)

I can't decide what I want yet but I don't think I'll take Interface. One of my MMs will definitely check out Interface.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Actually, I read this thread again

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=254417

and looks like I am going to try Interface, Reactive first. My Fort survives well enough. I just need more damage and Reactive seems like my cup of tea. :P -Resist + fire dot.

judgement isn't a cone.

Cryonic judgement is a cone, and is the weakest of them.

Pyronic is a Targetted AoE nuke.

Void is PBAoE

and Ion is a chain

well all of those slots are fully unlockable in the i20 beta...so I'm assuming they'll get released with it unless there's a major problem. But the mechanics seem pretty solid from what I'm seeing.

Oh! I was reading too fast. I thought all the "target" is the same type but with different effects. lol

Well, we'll see when they come out. They look very tasty.

What I think looks particularly interesting for the VEAT crowd is the Warworks Radial superior ally Lore branch. It summons on of the Victoria assassin droids + an orb that heals and adds defense. Dispari indicated that the Victoria was a damage powerhouse, essentially a NPC DB/SR stalker on steriods.

It has an innate 15% defense to ALL attacks. The battle orb has a dispersion bubble adding another 16% to that, and then mind link + TT:M means it'll end up w/ about 54% defense. Sounds freaking crazy awesome to me.

The seer w/ fortitude looks interestng as well.

For judgement, will prob go for void as I prefer the PBAoE over pyronic's targeted AE. Also, I think void's graphic looks crazy cool and is more thematic to my build. Will have to wait and see if the superior dot on pyronic is enough to change my mind.

Overall... my jaw's still hurting from when it innitially hit the ground. Awsome looking issue for sure.

Turning out to be the most game changing issue since Issue 9 (Inventions).

My VEAT on her own can be in the 56% range of defense. (with about a little more than half for Psi). I can only imagine what Lore will do for her come Issue 20.

Blazara Aura LVL 50 Fire/Psi Dom (with 125% recharge)
Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute
Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!

Can we control Lore pets? I know we can rename them.

Yes, we will have the same control options that a mastermind has when using the lore pets.

Yeah, I'm looking at the Interface: Reacive Riadial Flawless (25% -res / 75% fire DoT on attacks) on my NW. I prefer the dot-heavy one over the -res-heavy one as I can't see the stacking -2.5% debuff making a huge difference when my widow already rips through mobs.

But stacking the fire dot with my toxic dot looks promising. I believe the fire dot was listed as a 75% chance of a 14 damage DoT, but I'm unsure on its duration. This should allow me to hit a mob a few times and switch targets while the stacked toxic and fire dots finnish it off. I'll have to do some more research first and figure out which would be best... who knows, the res debuff interface may be insanely good.

And Destiny's +hp buff looks like just wht the doctor ordered: a 500 hp buff that has a 120 sec duration and 120 sec recharge. That will bring my widow to 2102 hps and (if my math is correct) 37.07 hp regen/ sec. Good stuff =)
