Does Defense Debuff Resistance actually work

Or are the debuffs that the Banished Pantheon spread around just so massive that it's useless against them.

Earthquake has a massive defence debuff. Ask SR users if it doesn't work, though; it does.

I *am* an SR user. My SR character was getting plunged into negative defense almost instantly against BP early this morning. Particularly against those glowing green masks, as I recall. I assumed they were using some form of Radiation debuff.

There are only a few debuffs that ignore defense debuff resistance. Lady Winter's is the only one that I can think of right now.

The Rad blast debuffs makes Quake defense debuffs look like nothing.

If you're mid-20s rather than level 50 and fully built then it makes even more sense. Neutron Bomb is an AOE attack with which debuffs defense by 25.

I only had 70% or so resists at the time. I got my AoE toggle after levelling up in that mission, though.

Then Neutron Bomb didn't have any defense to check against, and it was debuffing your defense by 7.5 a pop after Defense Debuff resistance.

That's assuming the masks debuff is at the same level as a Defenders, which I'm not sure of, but it's likely. It'll also spam it as it should recharge much quicker than the defender version since it's the only attack a mask has.

Plus Masks are immune to Taunt, so if you were on a team no-one would be able to pull the damn thing off you.

I think it must be higher, as I keep my defense monitor up at all times with that character and my defense was dropping/recovering in chunks that were somewhere around 15-20%.

Spirits of Sorrow, Avalanche Shamen and one of the two types Dessicated Husks have -Def attacks. I don't think anything should be taking 15% a shot off a toon with 70% DDR though. Unless they were +3s or something.

They were precisely +3, as a matter of fact. I was kicked up to 49 and they were 52s.

Well, then the debuffs are 133% effective thanks to the Purple Patch.

Even so, the debuff taking 15% off your defense per hit means that the base debuff is somewhere around 37.5% - more like Defender Irradiate than Defender Neutron Bomb. Maybe BP masks have very high debuff scalars?

Well now. I've previously tested, bugged, and reported on the forums that Earthquake from Possessed Scientists in PI is unresistable. It cuts right through /SR's 95% DDR. See the link for screenies.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Earthquake from other sources, noatble COT Earth Thorns and BP Avalanche Shamans, was also unresistable. Need to test that, though.

According to City of Data even the Player version is non-resistable.

Quake is around 10% so it's not massive. But if it's non-resistable across the board that means it'll really hit SR characters hard.

Yes, considering it's a location-based autohit. They can't dodge it, they can't resist it, and it makes other otherwise dodge-able, resist-able attacks hit them through their main mitigation.

Earthquake is flagged as unresistible from the Avalanche Shamans as well, I believe it's the same from all sources. Makes for a fun farm if you're /Super reflexes. I'm using that mission from Unai for farming, lots of debuffs makes it somewhat fun to stay alive even if it's mind-numbingly easy to play melee characters.
