Hey everyone, first let me say it's good to be back playing CoH/CoV I been away from the game for last couple years and really missed it!! I am trying to catch up with all the new stuff in the game but would love to get some info but it seems nobody is ever on weekdays during the days that can give answers. I even tried that mentor project sign in but nobody ever answers lol !! Can anyone tell me whats the best site or section to look into things like the new slots, shards and how to do all that aswell as the other things like new quests for end game !!
Thx LG

The closest there is would be http://www.paragonwiki.com/. It's not very in-depth, however. Unlike for Guild Wars or World of Warcraft, the player base in CoX just isn't all that interested in compiling knowledge and walkthroughs.

For "the new slots", I assume you mean the Alpha Incarnate slot - with a level 50, talk to Mender Ramiel in Ouroboros. He's got a lot of information. Also poke around the Powers->Incarnate Abilities panel and tabs.

Sites like Thottbot used automated programs or add-ons to gather data directly from World of Warcraft while a user was playing. I find Paragon Wiki to be more than adequate for learning about game mechanics. Mission walkthroughs are missing, but the randomization of many maps makes that too much of a challenge.

My understanding is that in World of Warcraft, if you ask a question in game or on the forums, people recommend that you do a lot of not-so-inventive things to yourself.

If you ask a question on the forums HERE, there's a bit of a race to answer helpfully.

Here is a little bit of info about the Alpha Slot. Being a wiki, if you think it needs improvement, you can do it yourself

Something else that may be new to you: the "Combat Attributes" [aka "Real Numbers"] window. If you look at "Powers" there are two clickable phrases on the top: "Combat Attributes" and "Incarnate Abilities". Combat Attributes lets you see your Defense, your regen rate, your damage bonus, etc. (you can even right click on a specific thing to keep track of, for instance, your damage bonus or your ranged defense.)

Other tricks for the number-intensive include right clicking on powers to see their stats, mousing over powers and enhancements in the Manage Enhancement window, and typing power names into your chat window like this: [Inferno] or [vomit] .

Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

Hey! Fulmens! Yeah you!

Why don't you go do something uninventive to yourself and let someone else get an answer in before you go helping ALL the noobs! Some of us want to help the noobs too!

A fair number of the task forces have walkthroughs.

As for mission walkthroughs? "Do what the nav bar tells you. Or kill everything. Whichever works." That covers better than 90% of the game.

Perhaps you typed the channel name wrong and you're the only person on that channel. Or maybe you found a time when no one is on. You should open your friends list and see who is on the channel. If there really is no one online, there isn't much point in talking on the channel.

If ANYONE was on, they would answer. I'm on the channel but I'm not on during the day on weekdays.
