Flash Freeze and procs
If you slot a chance for heal into Flash Freeze, or any AoE sleep, does it have a chance of proccing once per every enemy hit for multiple heals, or is it just the one heal but a higher chance of it happening due to so many hit?
Similarly, does the placate work if the sleep also deals damage? I'm planning on Flash Freeze for a Blaster to use as a panic button on top of Hoarfrost and Hibernate, but this is useful info for sleep powers in general. |
The Placate should come after damage is dealt, wiping you from the agro list, but i can't say for sure with this particular skill.
Good to know, the chance for a nice chunk of heal was the main reason for it (I don't use Snow Storm for the amount of aggro it gets and mez detoggles it).

Yes, the healing procs can trigger multiple times. I made a Sonic/Ice Blaster for expressly this purpose.
Call of the Sandman: Siren's Song, Frozen Aura, Flash Freeze (or Sleep Grenade)
Entropic Chaos: Shriek, Chillblain, Scream, Shout, Screech

Just to add onto what Julius said it occurs after the sleep/dmg has been dealt. I used to PvP with a Mind/Therm troller and I'd slot up the ST sleep for damage and throw a Placate proc in it for extra goodness.

Honestly IMO, if you're giving ANYTHING up to slot the heal proc it's not worth it.
I have my Ice Melee tanker's Frozen Aura heal proc'd, I think it's actually fired THREE times* since I friggin slotted the thing (many levels ago), and I solo with him on x8 (depending on what mobs I'm facing).
So if you have extra slots laying around and nothing better to put in them, sure go ahead, but if not Don't bother. It's a waste.
*I willingly admit it may be firing off more often than that, But I've never noticed it and I tend to watch for procs cause I get a sense of satisfaction seeing them go off, even if they don't really provide much benefit.

I'm giving up Snow Storm and a 0.5 second recharge bonus from Flares.
I like Blasters to have utility and plenty of survivability, it's all they need to be built for as their damage is already superb, even moreso if you're alive. An AoE sleep which has a chance of healing back some health, even the smallest amount, is still better than most of the support built into the Blaster sets.
Especially if thrown into a huge group of Rikti in the final room of the LGTF, every little helps afterall.
