Troller vs Corrupter Farm
That Corruptor better have an AoE immobilize from the patron pool, otherwise the critters will be scattering like there's no tomorrow.
The Controller will usually do better though, cause being able to lock down the spawn gives him an edge in suriability. Sure you can softcap defense on a Corruptor to patch the survivability problem, but even then you'll be limited in the mobs you can fight (since you have to pick between capping ranged defense OR smash/lethal defense), whereas a Controller's only limit are mez-resistant spawns (which are rare)
I'm gonna lean towards the troller. Being able to keep all of the enemies inside of a tight, AoE-friendly radius with Cages, -and- being able to keep them all mezzed goes a long way towards increasing your kill speed and keeping yourself alive, even from attacks that you haven't built defense towards.
Containment + Fulcrum shifted Fire Cages, Hot Feet, your AoE Epic, and whatever other damage attacks you have will give you more than enough kill speed. I've not seen anything like it that matches it on both safety and consistency on a squishy.
Fulcrum Shifted Imps are a nice damage boost as well. I suggest Stone Mastery for the S/L defense shield.
Here's a build, since I like posting builds.

Both are speed demons, but trollers have an edge in safety/survivability. I'd be interested in seeing two optimized builds going head to head.
Of course a SS/Fire brute can do it just about as well for much cheaper, with much higher survivability than both when it comes to farming things according to their own particular idiom.
What is this "OR" you speak of? All (ok, not all, all the ones I like) of my Corruptors have softcapped ranged, s/l, and energy, and close to neg as well.

So guess I will lvl up a Brute, currently have a SS/DA one I'v been playing and SS is fun but unsure about DA looks nice but I am a Endo hog.
Make that Corruptor a Fire/Psi Dominator and this discussion gets interesting.
My Spines/DA scrapper wins regardless.

Fire/Kin Vs Fire/Kin here(unless ya got another powerset) for General Farming.
While Trollers can walk in and control the spawn and take em down, my Corrupter runs in FS and Nukes or RoF+FB+FB..etc etc kills without much of an issue.
Anyone have both that can toss me a little experience between the two?
And yes I do enjoy farming and kinda looking for the best overall toon for farming/pl(as I always have to pl my wife's new guys and give her influence).
Can a Fire/Kin Troller keep my attention with its dps like my Corrupter does?
