Thugs/FF

Does it work?

I would think, with the force fields, dispersion bubble, 2 enforcer maneuvers, mm maneuvers, and 2 io def bonuses, nobody would never feel a scratch.

Yes I think it would work. FF is a great set to buff pets. I have a Bots/FF who is great.

My suggestion however would be a Thugs/Traps. You will get the FF Generator and with a few pet IO's slotted they will be very very tough.

The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

It runs into the cap very easily but then it's sort of a one trick pony. That one hit in 20 that always lands can hurt unless you're standing ready with a heal

Thugs/FF is a very "Tank" like MM. I have one..but by lvl 28 or so he got pretty boring. I'd second going Thugs/Traps instead. You still get really good defense...but you also get a nice range of debuffs to help out with difficult foes.

My level 50 Dominators:
Madame Mindbender 50 Mind/Energy
Fly Agaric 50 Plant/Thorn
Nate Nitro 50 Fire/Psi

Fully agreed on the Thugs/MM. Once you get to SO levels, the triage beacon goes from terrible to something that's on nearly full time and offers 300% regen. Between that and the forcefield generator plus some - tohit, the thugs become very durable. Best part is you can debuff the mobs at the same time, meaning you end up with quite a lot more dps in that fight.

And as we all know, death is the ultimate damage mitigation.

My first villain 50 is a Thugs/FF and absolutely it "works". You can do pretty much any PVE except AVs, those are a stalemate. Not only does the Defense provide safety for you and your minions, but Force Bolt is remarkable at what it does - resistance to kb is very rare with npc mobs, so when there's a troublesome boss, you can keep him on his butt, perma.

So, OP if all you're looking for is "does it work?" because of your interest in the combo, by all means, yes. If you're looking for being more effective, I'll give yet another shout out to Traps, which surprisingly affords YOU, the MM, more Def via FFG than Dispersion Bubble provides.

It's an awesome build, but a real pain in the ****, because you've got to constantly keep your enforcers near everyone at all times in order to maintain the softcapped def. If your bruiser runs out in front (like he loves to do), he dies. If the bad guys turn and run (which they almost always do after swinging and missing a few times), you've got to reign your guys in real quick so they don't get killed off.

Gotta admit, that personal FF is really nice, though. Got me out of a lot of jams.
