I am deciding between cardiac radial and core boost.

My build is very End heavy. I may make a second spec to use musculature or spiritual later.

Anyhow, to specifics,

Controller Fire/Storm.

All four Leadership powers, Steam Mist and Hot Feet to power. Plus wanting to toss lightning storm, tornado and water spout. All this on top of spamming my control powers including fire cage.

With the +resist it wont really do much except what I get out of steam mist.
With the +range, that would be nice to be able to control with a greater safety margin, my PBAOE nature does make me go up to the spawn after they are somewhat shut down though.

With + range does that also increase the area or radius of effects as well? Would firge cages be bigger I know the 16 max targets would stay the same. Would flash fire have a bigger rad?

More important what about the range for lightning storm? Not casting it, the part about how far I can travel from the storm and still have it work part, would that go up?

Does +range affect AoE size?

No, it does not, it will only increase how far the target can be from you to activate the power. The radius will not increase. HOWEVER, just for a complete answer, in cone powers, it will increase both how far away from you the end of the cone is, as well as how big the base of the cone is, which increases the area significantly, at times.


Will +range increase how far you can wander from LS?

Not sure on this one, but I would think no. The +range should only affect how far from you you can place it.

Lightning Storm places only where you stand. +Range does increase it's lighting range.

You can use any of the 4 in the same build, just swap them out.

This can be very helpful - my Grav/Storm/Mu with Charged Armor and Steamy Mist gets to run around with about 68% energy resistance with this uncommon slotted. I'm tempted to use build 3 to try and create a ConTanker to see just how far I can take that resist boost (Using Primal Forces Mastery, I could quite reasonably have capped Smashing/Lethal resists between slotted Tough and Temporary Invulnerability, for example...though I'd be more interested at looking at spreading out my resistances a bit and need to consider my epic choices in that light)

That said, I usually keep the recharge/stun slotted for Perma stun via Wormhole+Thunder Clap (and just Thunder Clap, with my global recharge, can perma-stun bosses and LTs)


Range is also very helpful if you like getting around via Teleport

Just a few notes:

+RES is useful depending on your powers. As Fire/Storm it will only change your epic armor and the +RES you get out of Steamy Mist. However, that can still be a nice perk.

+range is pretty useful, but it's better if you have cones. As you don't have many (Gale is meh) then it won't be quite as good. But it will still let you mez and heal from farther away.

Another note is that the rare/very rare are coming soon. The "core" branch has an end boost that changes from 33% to 45% (in addition to more ED piercing). If you still feel you have end woes you may plan for doing the core branch (the very rare core still has both RES and range)

I dont have the armor from leviathan mastery.

So many choices so few powers you can take

I may drop bonfire though, we'll see. I already want to move some slots around from my i19 spec. Working on buffing end still.

Another thing you might look into is slotting invention sets that grant +END (Pets: Unquestioning Loyalty, Commanding Presence; Ranged: Entropic Chaos, Decimation; Defense: Gift of the Ancients; Resistance: Impervium Armor; Holds: Ghost Widow's Embrace, Gladiator's Net) and earning Accolades (if you haven't already) that grant +END. That not only gives you a few more points to burn through, but also increases your recovery, since recovery is based on a percentage of total endurance.

If you're not stuck on your Patron pool, you could also look into Soul Mastery for Dark Consumption (+End from your enemies power)
