Mid level widows, end heavy?

So I've been tinkering with my melee widow and trying to get myself up to 30 and build a nice IO set for 30-33 to softcap defense with perma mindlink. I like the 33 set pieces because it's a sweet spot for me. Good enough numbers that you aren't gimping yourself late game, and a nice middle of the road set level for exemping down.

Currently I'm 28 and just sucking wind constantly. Cannot seem to keep the blue bar filled up at all. I generally do not run anything other than my stealth and maneuvers, and they have some end redux. Attacks are common IOs with a little bit of frankenslotting to get some end redux in, but it just never seems to be enough. Once I get 33 I'm probably going to shut off XP and try to farm some AE tickets since the market is just bone dry on 30's recipes right now... but getting to that point is just painful with the serious end issues.

Just trying to get a feel I guess if this is common or what? I know a couple more slots in endurance would help, but I'm just not sure I can fit them in by 33 and still have enough to get the global recharge I need to perma mindlink.

Is this normal? The last 2 characters I took to 50 were a MM and a SS/WP brute, and both builds are generous for end. So I'm not sure if this is just a regular thing and it will round out a bit more as I get my slotting completed or if I just need to do a bit of reevaluation for how much end redux I need to account for.

Night widows pretty much always run endurance heavy. Their attacks are fast animating, and with the +rech for perma mind link are up very often. My widow is 50 and can easily burn through her entire bar in prolonged fights. Some battles (lethal resistant AVs, Rommy in the ITF) sometimes needs to pop Elude purely for the end recovery.

Of course at 50 she's got a lot more options to reduce that endurance burden than you do at sub-30 (bless you cardiac alpha slot!) but maybe the performance shifter +end proc and/or numina proc and miracle proc. It's a lot of inf but all three slotted (in addition to stamina) should help take the edge off the end woes a bit.

Interesting that you ask this. I just dusted my Widow off last night and realized just how much I loved playing her.

She is at level 47 currently. She only has level 45 or level 50 IO's in her. I don't have perma mind link. I'll check into that at level 50 with better IO's when the time comes.

A friend asked me to send them my build because they were having end issues as well. So I just copy/pasted so you could see too. My Widow is taking on +3 / 3 players so far against council (mostly with the help of Soul Mastery) . I haven't tried the other enemy types yet. But I will keep upping the players to see what her limit is...

widow training:

swipe: 2 acc, 2 end red, 2 dmg

strike: same

lunge: same

spin: same

night widow training:

build up: 3 rech

slash: 2 acc, 2 end red, 2 dmg

eviscerate: same

smoke grenade: 3 rech, 3 too hit debuff

teamwork:

combat training: defensive: def buff

tactical training: maneuvers: 3 end red, 3 def buff

combat training: offensive: 1 acc

indomitable will: 1 end reduc

foresight: 1 resist, 1 def buff

widow teamwork:

mask presence: 1 end reduc

mental training: 1 run

mind link: 1 def buff

inherent:

brawl: none

sprint: 1 run

rest: 1 reach

inherent fitness:

swift: 1 run

hurdle: 1 jump

health: 3 health

stamina: 3 end mod

flight:

air superiority: 2 acc

fly: 1 fly

medicine:

aid other: none

aid self: 3 health, 1 interrupt

soul mastery:

soul tentacles: 2 acc, 2 end, 2 dmg

darkest night: 3 end red, 3 too hit debuff

dark obliteration: 1 acc (got this one at level 47) (will slot more once i hit 48)

MM's are pretty end-friendly in general, while WP has superior recovery with Quick Recovery and Stamina. Widows don't have it that easy.

The toggles shouldn't be a big problem, especially if you have some end redux already. The attacks are going to chew up most of your endurance, so put as much redux in them as you can afford. I agree with Riley about Miracle/Numina/Performance Shifter; ideally have all three. The uniques made a major improvement for my widow when I was able to slot them. Also, look into the Atlas Medallion accolade. It's doable by level 30.

Widows have relatively high end costs for their melee powers, and attack very fast. Widow claws were balanced around their (very fast) animation times under a new formula, and in addition, their attacks don't benefit from the claws power 'special' endurance reduction.

One of the results is that you do burn down your endurance quickly and easily with one. Inherent fitness is a godsend, slotting for some end reduction or frankenslotting some cheap sets in the mid 20s/low 30s will help you alot too.

But there's a bright side - with the right setup you'll be doing just as much damage as most scrappers who don't have the shield defense secondary.
