Accessing Ghost Slaying axe/Sands of Mu?

So I have the 12 month badge listed in my characters, and the site says I get access to my choice of one of these powers. I'm just tinkering around with starting up a VEAT, but I don't see these powers listed anywhere and the vet program page doesn't offer any info on how I actually get the power.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Look in the badges tab/list under the nav/compass bar. Set it to Veteran Rewards. There'll be a list of the rewards and you claim them by clicking on the buttons in the list.

Check under the Veteran tab in your badges? That's how you get the vet granted free costume changes and respecs.

Thanks! Just got back from a bit of a break, so little details have slipped my mind.

No problem. Have fun. i'd usually suggest that you stop punching yourself in the groin, but i've heard that for some people that *is* fun.

Perhaps you were distracted by those repeated blows to the groin in your avatar.

Hah, thanks. It was one of the first ones I did when I was learning to make animated gifs. I've done a few since and I was thinking about switching it up, this one was just here from when I was playing before.

I believe it was my statement on the redside marketplace, in regards to nothing being readily available. As in, shopping in the red market was kinda like punching yourself in the junk Thank god for the market merge!

Just exactly so.

When I decided I wanted to learn to make animated gifs I looked up a tutorial and then taught myself on whatever video clips were handy. Some robot chicken, American Dad etc. Have a great one of Stan doing his Booty Clap from the spring break episode. So very, very wrong.

For what it's worth, on all of my (considerable) alts, I've taken the Ghost Slaying Axe only two or three times. In each case, I've regretted it.

A later vet reward gives you a choice between the Blackwand and the Nemesis Staff. And yet an even later vet rewards allow you to re-visit both prior choices, selecting one of the previously unchosen powers.

This allows (so far) access to three of the four available vet power choices:

1. Sands of Mu
2. Ghost Slaying Axe
3. Nemesis Staff
4. Blackwand

In the cases where I do not take the GSA, the other three powers occupy prominent spots in my power tray (usually tray three, powers 1, 2 and 3).

In the cases where I've taken GSA, it generally remains ignored except for specific missions where I'm up against undead (due to the special damage). Unfortunately, undead aren't particularly common in the game.

This is just my opinion based on my experience. YMMV.

----------

tl;dr version: for this specific vet reward, take Sands of Mu.

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
