This is happening to me now with the new patch or whatever is happening today (Saturday), presumably with fixes to the Winter Event? Sometimes I get that message trying to get in to the server list, other times I can't get in to Victory or Champion.

And whenever I try to open City of Heroes again, it seems to re-DL a patch and apply it. Every time. Anyone know what the heck is going on?

I am getting the same error when I try to select Champion server as well. Tried a couple of other servers and they also return the same error message.

Update: I tried the following and it appears to have helped. Once I used the ipconfig /flushdns the patch ran again (3rd time the game has patched itself today) and now I am able to select Champion server.

Go to your Start menu and type “cmd” (without the quotes) in the Run box to start the command prompt.
Type “ipconfig /flushdns” (again, no quotes) at the prompt and press return.
Close the window.

Best regards,

Well, weird. I kept having the issue, and figured I would reverify the files, and now things work for me. Not sure why that didn't work for others, though.

I too am locked out with the same message. Happens on all servers. And Tommy, tried this and got the message of "the requested operation requires elevation" whatever that means.

I logged in fine when the servers went up after the patch. I D/C'd about a 30mins ago, restarted my comp, restarted CoH, D/L patch again (I thought maybe my previous D/C was on CoH's part and 2nd needed patch). Logged in and I got the same message as you all. I did the ipconfig /flushdns and I'm waiting on it applying now. I think I may also verify files before logging in.

I am having the same issue. I can't access Virtue or Pinnacle. When I restart the game it goes to apply a patch. Currently this is the third time today it has applied a patch.

Had it verify all files and now it seems to work.

It's not even redoing the patch for me. Heck, not DLing a patch to begin with. Any way to force that? It says I'm up do date still after the resub and patching on Thursday.
