ATI 10.12 drivers

Well ATI released 10.12 drivers and things have been good for 2 days.

I know many of us ATI users had some issues with 10.10 and 10.11 drivers.


H: Blaster 50, Defender 50, Tank 50, Scrapper 50, Controller 50, PB 50, WS 50
V: Brute 50, Corruptor 50, MM 50, Dominator 50, Stalker 50, AW 50, AS 50
Top 4: Controller, Brute, Scrapper, Corruptor
Bottom 4: (Peacebringer) way below everything else, Mastermind, Dominator, Blaster

Thanks for the info. I will try it out on the contact list and Ouro on my affected toons and report back my findings.

Edit:
Well, I installed it and loaded up a couple of characters that I was having issues with before, and things worked flawlessly. Hopefully it lasts. It's nice being able to rely on simple things like a window with secondary 3d environments in it opening properly. haha

The 10.12 drivers seem to have fixed the driver stopped responding or whatever errors I have been getting since I installed the 10.11s. I am pleased.

Not for me, they caused constant crashes (10.12, that is) - I rolled back to 10.9 (ATI Radeon 5850). Specifically, if I opened the contact window it would immediately crash the game.

10.12s are working fine for me, but I'm still getting the "transparent AA" bug. That is, when something is anti-aliased against a background/object that's using a transparent texture, the AA creates an outline.

Examples: (Click on the picture)





In the first shot you can see this effect around all the furniture and the character. This doesn't happen with every floor, just this one, so I figured I'd use it as an example.

In the second shot you can see it around the character's head, against the computer. This happens not just inside bases, but anywhere there is a texture with transparency, even if only part of the texture is transparent.

If I turn AA off, this effect stops. But of course, I don't have AA anymore. This problem was actually fixed awhile ago, I think just before i17 and Ultra Mode, then it came back and hasn't been fixed since. Pretty annoying.

EDIT: I should mention I'm using a 5850 in Win7 64.

Update:

While i have not had any of the usual contact list crashes with 10.12, I did crash just now when i called in a TF (which results in the normal contacts loading up again). It wasn't just a standard crash either, it was a "driver stuck in infinite loop" crash that forces me to hard reset my system.

Same here, has happened a few times to me, which has never happened before.

I'm also getting a weird effect with Depth of Field where even close up, my character is blurry, like being shot through a filtered lens... Strange.

I've seen alot of 5850 cards having issues. Just wondering, are you using automatic GPU fan settings or using manual/custom GPU fan settings.
