Widow Question: choosing between Gloom/Soul Tentacles/Dark Oblit

I've been running around with Gloom and Dark Obliteration on my NW because the people I usually play with are all pretty AOE spec'ed and my most effective killer is an ele/shield scrapper with fire blast and fire ball, so I'm used to the ranges and radii of the aoe.

But I've noticed that things really love to run away from the widow. So I've been debating between staying where I am, or getting Soul Tentacles to slow down the runners.

If I switched, I could keep either gloom or dark oblit and not lose any real recharge. I think the only thing I lose is is the +max end I have in gloom if I don't take that.

So I'm curious...what combo of those three powers would you choose?

The problem with Tentacles is that it's a cone. Personally my Widow build (who wasn't planning on Gloom anyway, the redraw of Claws bugs me and I've got her Fortuna build for that) went with Fences & Ball Lightning for immob and AOE without needing to worry about lining cones up. She has Poison Dart for any runners anyway.

If it needs to be Soul then Tentacles and Oblit it would be for me. Runners are seriously annoying nowadays,

If you're an NW, your optimal ST attack chain is all-melee anyway, but your broadest-coverage AOEs are cones (dart burst and psi scream). If you're performing ranged AOE roles, you'll want soul tentacles and dark obliteration. Line up for your cones and throw tentacles-dart burst-psi scream-dart burst-dark obliteration.

If you have a single target, you'll basically want to do First Come First Serve with your attacks, in the priority order of follow up, lunge, slash, strike, eviscerate, swipe, poison dart, mental blast. Ie, of the attacks you have from that list, use them off cooldown in the order listed. Yeah, you can come up with static attack chains, but really an attack chain is trying to optimize the use of your attacks in the best order of DPA anyway - same principle.

Personally, I slotted my Dark Obliteration with the Knockdown proc from Ragnarok.

It doesn't entirely stop the running, but by the time I've AoE'd and hit them with it, they're either dead or knocked down long enough for me to make them dead.
