Questions on Alpha Slots
I slotted my Grav/Emp with the Cardiac Boost, and yep, its been night and day alright.
I tend to spam Crushing Field and Psi Tornado pretty vigorously, and neither were slotted particularly well for end redux.
CF had Gravitational Anchor and the Ragnorak proc, Tornado had Posi's and the Force Feedback proc. In other words, I was very heavily geared towards recharge, with the mantra that more recharge made Recovery Aura come back more, and therefore more endurance.
When looking at my alpha slot, I think I figured out Recovery Aura's downtime would drop by 4 seconds or something of that order if I went Spiritual.
I guess what we're seeing is that currently, the Alpha slot works well for whatever you haven't slotted already. None of my powers have ED-capped end reducation, so the gains are big. Lots of them have ED-capped Recharge reduction, so the gains are small there. Once we get the higher alpha s that ignore ED to a bigger extent, this may change.
(Similarly my Sonic Defender has foregone damage slotting in favour of Recharge, something I skimped on a bit with the actual powers slotting.)
Despite my undying love of recharge, I ended up going with Cardiac Core on my Ill/Rad. I already have over perma for my PA and most of my powers recharge close to instantly so I thought spiritual wouldnt be that helpful. the end reduction however was amazingly helpful for when I am pursuing my goal of dropping AVs/GMs without popping blue skittles. picked core over radial since i liked the boost to range as well.

I too put the Cardiac Core on my Ill/Rad (Non-Decoy) to give me greater range plus the ability to have every toggle and power I own on button-monster-mash.....my end never drops below fifty percent plus i like keeping at range for all the reasons which make controllers squishy...
My general feeling is that nearly all characters with major endurance issues will be better off skipping the Cardiac, going Spiritual, and selecting an APP that has an endurance recovery power. Even the 360 second recharge on Dark Consumption or Consume, which was ridiculous before, can be whittled down to something semi-reasonable. But Conserve Power, Power Sink and maybe Hibernate seem like the major winners. Maybe I'll be proven wrong the long run, and there will always be outliers, but I can't think of any Controller build that isn't much better off with powers available more often. For one thing, if we go villain, we can now get a second pet more or less permanently, and I understand the Mu pet will even heal you (no promises tho since I havent actually seen it first hand).

So, to access a PPP for a hero, we'd have to go all the way to vil, or just rogue or vig, respec, then switch back to hero to access our bases again? Then, we couldn't respec while a hero, right? I really should look at the PPPs more w/my other controllers (no way my Fire/Rad drops IW)...

I have been lead to believe that to get PPPs on a hero, you need to go full-villain and then do a patron arc. I *think* at that point you keep access to them even when respeccing again as a hero, but I'm not certain.
Ah, well, that's easy enough. What about for a vil? Do they just go hero once and always have access to APPs?

I went for even more recharge on my Ill/Rad (spiritual). She already had perma PA, and then we got inherent Fitness... and I was able to slot 2 more LoTG+Rech, but I love more recharge. EM Pulse is up that often, it's not even funny.

Mm. I'm still not seeing it for my Ele/Rad. The key powers in Elec are pretty short recharge to begin with. I'm focusing on solo (with Elec, yeah, I know, I'm crazy), so Mutation and Fallout are worthless. That pretty much leaves AM and a couple panic button powers as the reasons to want the big recharge boosts, and it just doesn't feel worth it. (Though I'm thinking recharge would be a good second one for a teaming-focused build. But, since I'm cray, that ends up being second priority.)
I'm not suggesting Musculature for /Kin. I did after all note that my /Kin character will be going for the recharge. But that's not because there's anything in Kinetics I want up faster, it's for powers in Fire and Psi.
