Fighting Pool for my Widow?
Nvm, I just going to go for it. With Sets end usage shouldn't be an issue.
Widows hard-cap at 200% defense and 85% resist. Personally, I think taking the Fighting Power pool is near useless due to my -tohit's and 70% global defense as is.
Note that if it interests you, with the 3% pvp resist unique and tough you can hit the 85% resist cap for S/L. You'll be at 2-3% health, but it's doable.
Thanks guys! I do remember hearing somewhere that widow's defense is capped. Thanks for the feedback!

Widowes and Fortunatas have sliding resists like Super Reflexes does. Combat Training: Defensive and Foresight both give 0.4% resistance to all damage (except Psy and Toxic) for each 1% of HP below 75% health.
So total, if you take both, multiply (75% - your % HP) times 0.8% to get your damage resists. At 50% HP, for example you have (75-50) * 0.8% = 25 * 0.8% = 20% resistance to everything except Psi and Toxic.
At 25% HP, you have 40% resistance. Etc. Not helpful against spike damage but will keep you alive longer against little stuff and DOTs. Tough on top of that would be interesting. I'd go for as much +HP as possible to boost the "reserve" when you start loosing health and see how it plays. Throw a bit of Regen in there for lols. I've never tried this, although I recall one forum poster say +HP was really effective on a widow.
On a widow? Widow's lack any S/L resist natively, and you aren't going to make up about 50+% from set bonuses, there just aren't that many (and none over 2% that I know of aside from the 3% pvp io)

Not sure how much it would affect survival, but if someone was interested in experimenting you could get the pvp unique, slotted tough and five sets of Gladiator's Strike and get @ 34% base S/L resists. With Cardiac Core Paragon slotted you could push this to 37% S/L maybe. My widow has 1622 hitpoints, so at 405 hit points she would have roughly 77% resists to S/L, 60% to psi (foresight + mind link) and 40% to all else but toxic.
Hmmm... might need to xfer to test and do some experimenting.
Yeah, what Gameboy said. Widow's begin with zero resists, but gain resists as their hit points dissapear similiar to SR. What I was referring to is that if you can get some base resistance it will stack with the sliding resists and you can hit the cap for S/L, but you'll be almost dead when it happens.

It will however buff psi resist tied to IW and ML.

Believe me I love my Widow but not enough to invest in purchasing PvP io's haha. Ah so they do work like SR eh? I was planning on boost my widow's hp overall to see how it affects her gameplay...to be honest I think she would fair better with the medicine pool and not the fighting pool.
It IS tempting though to try it out though.
I already know how a widow can be an endhog at times would it be foolish of me to add in the Fighting Pool on my widow or would it be wise? I need to see can I find info on the soft and hard caps for defense.
