Buy A-merits more than once a day - well, sort of.
Doesn't matter to me either way but I think this might just be adding unnecessary complexity to something that is working fine already.

Just a quick idea to solve the twofold problems of complaints about the length of RL time it takes to save up for POs and PvPos and the in-game inflation.<snip>
Any thoughts? |
(Edit: And before anyone says it, no, I'm not rich. I might, if I pool *all* the INF across my heroside characters, afford some of the lower-cost PVP IOs. One, perhaps. Richest character has 300 million. Any over 100 million probably got a very lucky drop.)
the point of these was to give people something good over time.
like im slowly- like slowly slowly saving up merits for one or 2 pvp IOs. it only takes alittle time during the day/night to get 5 tips.
so i say while it sounds nice, i like to see it kept the way it is.
unsigned sorry.

Meh, it's not that big a deal I suppose. Mind you, the "time and money" bit is what the idea is focused on - you invest time {into earning merits} and money. I'm more partial to the time element being based on time spent earning it, rather than a fixed RL time period.
Plus, the idea is mostly oriented on sucking the influence out of the system in return for increasing the amount of goods.

50 Merits + 20million Influence is A LOT to most players.
I also don't see the ones who claim to make millions upon millions quickly to use it much either. As it would still require the use of Merits.
I got the one PvP IO I was looking to get for my main, took longer than the shortest time possible, but really it's one IO, and patience isn't a bad thing.

I don't think this is really necessary, but I wouldn't mind it either.
On a similar note, could we please get rid of the 20 hour timer on spending A-merits? I see no real use for that.

Remove the 20-hour hard limit on buying alignment merits. However, for every purchase within the 20-hour period, apply a cumulative 50% increase in price {rounded up}.
So, buying the first A-merit costs you 50 merits and 20million.
Buying another costs 75 merits and 30 million.
The third sets you back 113 merits and 45 millions.
And so on. After twenty hours pass since the last purchase, the cost snaps back to default, and the process can begin again. That way, players that neeeeeeed their uber-turbo-extra-rare enhancements can do so, while being encouraged to run various task forces and other regular content as well as removing influence from the system at a significant pace.
Any thoughts?
