Need a fun versatile early blooming scrapper archtype suggestion.
Martial Arts was buffed very recently, so you might give it another shot since you liked it the most. Willpower might be the smoothest secondary from 1-50. So maybe Martial Arts/Willpower? A lot of the early levels are spent waiting on cooldowns, though, regardless of what you take.
As far as stylish, I suppose that's individual preference, but I might suggest Dual Blades or Katana. And both work quite well with Willpower. Have a look at the powers in the character creator, I'd say.

Well I never tried them all so I am not sure which id enjoy the most right now trying some ma/electic armor.
Concur that of the primaries, MA, DB, Katana, and perhaps Claws are the flashiest / most stylish choices.
I will add that I personally find MA/Shield (with the right shield customization) a very good-looking and stlyish combo.
Also, as regards fun and versatility, I've been pleasantly surprised by Broadsword/Shield. I made one for concept and found out by accident that the combination of ruggedness and hitting power are outstanding. Long before adding set bonuses, stuff that might overpower Shield's defense is thwarted by Parry or mercilessly cut down by Broadsword's hitting power. Boosted by AAO, Broadsword has carved my way out of trouble more times than I can count.

Hmmm not sure about ma/shield seems like a great idea maybe kat/shield?
I found broardsword a bit on the slow side when I tried it before.
I have been liking Electric Armor on my scrapper.
Energize is really nice (though not at a really low level, i think i picked it up at 24).
For the lower levels though, I would go with fire armor. Healing flames is available early, and is among the best self-heals in the game.
MA/Fire scrapper took healing flames and the damage aura and nothing else from fire until her first respec and did just fine. the damage aura is really nice, and the heal, once slotted, is a significant portion of your health available once a minute.
I would however wait for i19 before starting your scrapper. inherent fitness is going to make the lower levels a lot smoother.
I had a good time cutting thru the gauntlet known as Praetoria with a claws/regen scrapper. the attacks are flashy, fast, the end cost is low, and regen gets fast healing and quick recovery early. Add that in with inherent fitness and you ignore your blue bar with the exception of end drain mobs. Also, you won't be taking a pause waiting for something to recharge.

/regen and /wp bloom the earliest. Kat and BS bloom early due to Parry and DA, but bloom from an offensive point of view later on. Claws and Dark bloom as fast as anything. DB is close behind, but I still think DB comes into it's own at 26 so it's not really early. I haven't really tried MA since the changes(too many alts, too many breaks from the game) so I'm not 100% how well it does early.
Title pretty much saids it all tried a few long ago and could not get into it, I think I enjoyed ma the most but the issue was not having enough attacks I spent a good amount of time waiting on cooldowns, I do not know if it has been buffed at all or not.
Oh yea gotta be stylish to thanks again all. |
With inherent fitness, I'm going to go out on a limb and say one of my absolute favorites is about to become an early bloomer, namely, claws/inv.
Very good damage and that truly incredible Invulnerable survivability.
However, 'early' doesn't last too long. At the top end, the Alpha slot is not especially kind to Invuln or WP, being tilted a bit more to bolster the resist-based sets with their quick-cycling heals.
I think Claw/regen is coming on strong if you really like active playstyles. A claw/elec or a claw/fire is interesting if challenging. And man, the damage on a claw fire, holy moly the damage...
With alpha slotting and a LOT of IO investment, a claw/fire is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
But in the long run, play what you like, and a claw/wp is not going to let you down, ever.

I have to admit though, that my Fire/Willpower was also a beast from the get-go. She had less survivability, but increased damage. Very fun character to play.
I really want to give Katana/Dark a try. I've played both, but not together, and it seems it would be a terrific combo...eventually. Maybe sooner than later?

Claws/wp it will be then that sounds awesome, seems you do need as many secondaries with wp for claws.
For a little while more it should be */Regen
when i19 hits, it will be any/any
Huh.?
I saw that, I was amazed and very very happy.
