Proper pvp etiquette

Don't pvp much ever since i13 or 14? so i'm not sure on the proper etiquette

it was my understanding that whoever is in a pvp zone is fair game

RV was dead so i decided to work on pillboxes for badges
on third pillbox, got attacked and killed by player
i think no big deal and great, because i have someone to battle in pvp

awhile later, i attacked someone who was apparently in RV for badges or some other reason than pvp, and that person got upset with me and started broadcasting about how rude i am and they were going to get their main pvp'er and kick my ****

i rarely broadcast in RV and didn't respond because of his attitude

i am sorry if i did something wrong, although i think he may have overreacted

i don't think i am a rude person, but i may be ignorant on the ways of RV

so if any regular PvPers could respond on the proper etiquette, i would appreciate it

I don,t pvp but I do go into those zones on occasion,if I remberer correctly there is a warning that you can be attacked by other players,so you did nothing wrong .The jerk who started whining should learn to read,in the past I have had the same player kill me over and over I asked him why and his reply was you are in a pvp zone you have to expect it with that I thanked him and left the zone I had read the warning so knew the risk.So just carry on as you are you have the right to attack in those zones classed as pvp and enjoy it .

Ettiquette?

Since when did that get added to PvP???

All Kidding aside.

In zone, you are specifically allowed to kill any targetable player as early
and as often as you like by any means at your disposal, provided it does
not violate "game rules".

By "Game Rules", I am aware of only TWO things that are Verboten.

1> Attacking players from outside the zone's geometry (ie. map
holes/bugs). It used to be possible (and still may be for all I know) to get
under some zone maps -- from there, you could kill targets with complete
impunity. That's potentially bannable.

2> Tp foe inside "inescapble" geometry... ie. you used to be able to port
folks into the little guard towers (where they couldn't escape) -- those
have long since been fixed, but if there are other similar cases, doing that
is potentially bannable.

Anything else, including droning, porting into NPC's, killing guys while
they're chatting, fighting something else, or otherwise AFK or distracted,
and any other methodologies you can think of are completely permissible.

Players who go into PvP zones are warned (in nice big red letters) that
they are fair game...

If they can't stand the "heat" ... TFB ...

PS> The various "chat" harrassment things also apply (racist slurs, etc.)
but, for the most part, taunting, heckling and the like are given a lot of
GM latitude in PvP zones.

I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is definitely better.
Light is faster than sound - that's why some people look smart until they speak.

There is no PvP Etiquette. It just doesn't work.

One second everyone in the zone is saying "anyone is free game"

The next they're saying "you can't interrupt the duels" then cry and moan if someone does.

First rule of Zone PvP. Do what YOU think should be done, and don't worry about what others do. Then smash buttons! And kill things.

Or if you're like me...get killed! But then I PvP with a PvE build. One day I'll make a serious PvP build.

Most of the time I will leave pill boxers alone - unless it is busy and they get collateral dmg from a team call. I mean it's not really fun to fight someone who has not interest in fighting back. Unless they nerd rage then I will keep killing..er arresting.

I think the previous posters pretty much covered it.

the Rules of the PvP Zones are this
1-When entering, expect to be attacked, no matter what your plans are.
2-If you don't like the climate of the PvP Zone at the time, fill free to leave.
3-Using geometry as stated above, is the only thing in PvP specific that you can do, that is banable to my knowledge.
4-Remember this is just a game, some people forget this and drive themselves in a tizzy, if your forgetting this rule, maybe it is time for you to take a break or something,

That guy was just overracting.

There is a contact, a few missions, signs in front of pvp zone entrances, and even a dialogue box upon entering a zone that all say "HEY THIS IS A PVP ZONE YOU WILL GET ATTACKED BY PLAYERS". People who throw a fit are just butt hurt they have social issues and can't deal with other people.

Proper pvp etiquette, as far as I am aware, involves creating a specific macro for /em teabag, and executing it on top of the defeated body of anyone who whines about being attacked for any reason within the borders of a PvP zone. Bonus points if it also CCs you in to a costume with a monocle and tophat.

Next time someone complains about badges, remember to inform them they chose to get badges and temp powers that were intended as a PvP-Risk reward, and you are simply providing the risk.

At christmas I like to farm presents in sirens and I hate when I get ganked and I have said in the past "I'm just here for presents leave me alone " but I knew it wouldn't get me anywhere and I didn't whine and threaten ppl about it because I knew it was a pvp zone. Maybe I'll kick up more of a fuss next time.
