Ouroboros or Ourboring

I decided to try a few Ouro quests like the ones to get you used to the place. I had already done the first one and it was a nice quest and I got some XP for it. The map was small and easy to do.

Now I just did the one that sets you to a level 1. Get the cure and kill 25 containated or something like that.

ZERO xp for the whole mission and it was probably the largest map I've seen in the game and I had to run it.

what were they trying to do BORE me to death?
I can't believe I did the whole mission .... why didn't I bail and such as stupid quest that give me nothing.

I don't think it's necessarily being lvl 1 that means you get no XP, but the fact that foes from Tutorial zones don't grant XP. That mission uses those same foes. You don't have to defeat everything. If you remember where the contacts were in Outbreak, you can just save each of them and move on to the "door mission" and finish it quite quickly.

The primary reason for that mission is to allow people who missed the Isolator Badge to get it. The reason it doesn't give XP is that the enemy group (Contaminated) are not actually balanced, they are intended as tutorial enemies and as such their attacks are extremly weak so you're basically at zero risk when fighting them.

The arc as a whole isn't really inteded as something you do on every character. It's there to explain the basics of Ourboros and introduce a bit of the plot for people who care about that, it's not really something you do for the rewards (although it does give 7 merits which isn't bad for the time required).

There's a red-side story arc in which the next to last mission has a map that's like a quarter of the entire St. Martial zone, not even having SuperSpeed made that palatable.

Don't forget the instanced maps of the Shadow Shard. There are a few of them that are quite large.

I think the key to having "fun" with that mission is using all your vet powers and temp powers that you've collected. Hand grenade, pistol, baseball bat, sledgehammer, break out the whole tool kit. Bow and Arrow and the iron sword from croatoa red cap missions also work.

Very true. Just look for a guy who needs rescuing, save him and move to the next until you're done. If you only defeat the mobs guarding the objectives you can be out and done in a fairly short while if you don't need/want the defeat badge for Contaminated.
