I'm getting tired of missing these. My HO supply is getting low. Only three games left in the season, then I should be back in full swing.

I have been informed that kidengineer would be unable to make the scheduled raid time due to real world events.
Here are our options:
1. Have someone else coordinate the raid (and "tank" Hamidon).
2. Run the raid 4 hours earlier (about 2pm Eastern, 11am Pacific) while he's available.
3. Hold the raid on Sunday.
4. Skip the raid for this coming weekend.
What would you like to do?

I understand that we are deep into the mid-issue slump, and it have already seen the effect on the Rogue Isle's Hamidon Raid last week. I suppose we'll see renewed interest once Issue 19 goes live, I just hope we aren't so out of practice that raiding Hamidon is a frustrating and difficult experience.

Sorry for not posting earlier T but I am interested in the raid and am available either Sat or Sunday if it should be held. I promise to bring nukes and to not steal others mitos 
I would offer to "tank" hami- but I think we can all agree that would just be scary!

So... what's the plan?
If we're going to be changing things up, we need to let people know asap.
I'm tempted to go with option #4. There just does not seem to be enough of us interested to make it worthwhile. I'd rather run a Task/Strike Force over attempting a Hamidon Raid with so few people.

Sure, take the week off. Remind people that the Hamidon Raids aren't just something that'll always happen every weekend. Participation is necessary to keep this going, same as any other event.
Next week there will be a resurgence of activity, I can feel it.
And I see this after I take the trouble to snag nukes.
Oh well.

What's the shelf life on nukes, anyhow?
Go enjoy the raidless weekend, leaders! Run a TF with some friends, or work on levelling a toon you really enjoy playing, experiment with a new powerset combo! You've earned it, and the Hive/Abyss will still be there next week!
When I found out that several people were not going to be available for this raid, I immediately put the option to the masses on the forums. Since there wasn't much of a response and there was no consensus nor majority, I decided not to attempt to run one with little support.
Last week's villain raid was not well attended, and I feared that the same result would occur this week as well.

We (the Saturday Raid Leaders) need to have a feel for who can, and cannot make it ahead of time. Pulling off a Hamidon raid with too few people, or the wrong mix of ATs is very problematic, and an experience I'd rather not experience, nor have anyone else endure.
If anyone here felt that strongly about having a Hamidon raid today, written support here on the forums and in the game (to show me that there was enough interest). A strong showing of interest was going to be the deciding factor behind either running the raid, rescheduling it, or cancelling it altogether.
Since there wasn't enough support (in my opinion), I decided to call it off.

The problem become that of relying on people to regularly read and follow up on the forums. Doing it this way pretty much guarantees you're NEVER going to do it again, as only a tiny subset of players actively hit the forums.
And while I'm active on the forums, I don't always have time to follow up every thread with a post going "yeah I'll be there". Sure, I'm rather (in)famous for some of my rather (pigheaded) attempts to follow certain threads. But those were mostly because I was given time to do so. Something I don't always have the luxury of doing.
Honestly, I look for the initial announcement in the forum and then show up when it's announced. Willing to bet that this is how a lot of people play it too. Set a 30 minute cutoff. If people aren't there at half-past, call the event. It creates minimal wasted time and sets a trend for people to be timely in showing up.

I have to agree with hyperstrike - I read the forums pretty frequently myself but even then didn't see T's comment about the possible reschedule until late (like midnight) on Friday and figured one extra response wasn't going to help much. I suspect that due to the small percentage of folks that read the forums vs those who just watch for in game announcements that shifting the time/day of the raid is not going to work without a lot of lead time and appropriate notification on in-game resources (MOTD's on appropriate global channels).
It seems to me that now that the current raid leaders have a routine down fairly well you might want to consider training some backup leaders in case the issue comes up again - that way if kid is out, T could shift to leading the raid and someone else could cover the yellow aggro team or something similar. If you are coordinating over some kind of VOIP getting more folks on the same software/servers so you have extra backup would also be good.
I would be happy to fill in as a lead for either the yellow aggro team (blueside only) or melee spike team(blue or redside), I would just need a day or so warning so I can make sure I have prepped the right toon (Andromache for aggro, Crimson Mystique for spike).

The raid was not canceled because no one responded to the initial posting.
The raid was canceled because when we realized Kid couldn't be there at the regular time and T asked what the rest of us wanted to do, pretty much no one responded.
Now... I told T myself that most likely no one had looked at the thread again, and were unaware that the question had even been raised, but, none the less, that was the medium we had available to discuss the problem.
The leadership is not the issue. We have plenty of people capable of taking on any of the roles (T could have taken the lead, and any number of people could have stepped into his normal role). The issue is that we had to call the last raid d/t no enough people coming out, and it was starting to appear that THIS raid just had too many strikes against it.
The number one thing that influences whether a raid happens or not is participation. That's it.
We - the raid leadership - discussed it and decided that given the poor turnout at the last raid, the lack of apparent interest in this one, and that not just the raid leader but several other of our more experienced raiders were going to be unavailable, the best thing was to call this one.
If at any point, you're unhappy with the way Kid and his team make decisions, feel free to run your own raid.

Perhaps implying that we're never going to run a raid again, and complaining about the communication methods we have available is intended to be helpful, but... it really came across, to me anyway, as just ********.

This (the mid-issue slump combined with i19 in closed beta) problem is going to resolve itself fast. After I19 hits, we'll have a full hive/abyss every time. It won't be a problem again for quite awhile.
The ball was dropped early by posting the next raid and then immediately trying to change it. That was what caused this whole problem and it was an organizational problem that has never happened before and probably won't happen again. It was an oops, and the problems that occurred this time are not likely to ever occur again.
But... back to the snark at hand... if you make a snarky comment... you're probably going to get a like response back.
Paragon City Hamidon Raid, in the Hive.
Saturday, November 6th, 3 PM Pacific (4 PM Mountain, 5 PM Central, 6 PM Eastern).
kidengineer will be leading the raid/coordinating the teams.
A few points to remember:
* The Hive is restricted to level 45+ Rogues, Heroes, and Vigilantes.
* Warburg Biological Mutagen and Chemical Burn warheads greatly help. If you can please acquire one for the raid.
* A full tray of Essence of the Earth (known as EoE) inspirations is very useful (but not absolutely necessary).
* The raid team leaders will use the Request channel to coordinate the teams. Please monitor the channel for instructions, but do not use it unless you are one of the raid team leaders
* It will hold 50 characters, if the Hive fills up, do not leave the zone, there is no guarantee you'll get back into that instance.
* The Hamidon will spawn (bloom) 3 sets of Mitos at (75%, 50%, and 25%), in addition to the mitos that initially spawn with him.
* After Hamidon is defeated you will have the option of selecting 53 Reward Merits or a random Hamidon Origin Enhancement if you are level 47+.
If you can, please acquire Biological Mutagen warhead/nuke from Warburg prior to the raid. They help tremendously.
Please acquire Chemical Burn warhead/nuke from Warburg as well. We're planning to plow through the last bloom.
We may attempt a completely evac-less raid, depending on attendance.
