Titles. What gives?
I'm on the fence about this one.
* Yes, the GMs are paid to deal with censoring issues... however, for each case they have to deal with, that's one more thing in line ahead of more important stuff they may have to help people with --such as people unable to complete a TF mission because the last foe is stuck in a wall or the objective is off the map.
* Of course, the censorship thing does seem a little less an issue because of things like SG names (although, while everyone can, not everyone makes an SG for each individual character... titles would be more prolific than SG names) and nameable pets.
Here's a thought: Application for title! When you reach an appropriate level, you can petition to have a custom title appended to your name. It goes in the list and once a day, a GM has to scroll through the list and approve or deny. If approved, the title is automatically added to your character. If not, you can apply again with a different one. When you reach the next level where you gain a title, you can either modify the current one or extend it by adding a second word via the same process.
My personal favorite is that my heroes can be "wanton" but my villains can't.

The censorship issue is absurd. They already have to do precisely that with names of characters, names of pets, names of custom NPCs, character bios, custom mission descriptions, custom NPC dialogue, lingering souvenirs and so forth. Yet somehow type-in titles are the straw that broke the camel's back?
Or, more than likely, EVERYTHING EVER SUGGESTED where people can type text in a text box is the straw that breaks the camel's back, if this forum is anything to go by. It's a wonder we don't have to pick from a set of words to form our character names.

Eh, the GMs are paid to do that.
And besides, like I mentioned before.
We can name our own pets, if we're an MM, we can name our own SGs, we can name the individual ranks in the SGs, we can create entire missions, writing the text and dialogue for them all.
If 'additional work to censor stupid stuff' was really a factor, do you really think they'd give us half of that?
