Sadly, I must admit that I am insanely jealous of your ability to run all those instances.
I am also amazed at your ability to run all those instances.

Since there were a few permutations of the name left available, a friend decided to hop along with me while I melt stuff in Paragon City ^_^
The eternal night makes the screen shots too dark, but you get the general idea >_> But really, if you ever see me on any of my teams, just send me a tell, and I will always invite if some one wants to hop along with. I am just no good at actively looking for teams, what with my condition and all o.o I realized today, that I still follow my eye doctors advice from when I was a kid, and have to remind myself to blink when using the computer @.@

Oh, and on a side note, made it from 8 to 22 today, on ToT alone >_> I was planning on running content the whole way up, but it's just so much easier to click on doors. And I get costumes for it too!

Do me a favor and post your system specs. I want to see what type of ballpark I'm needing to be in to do that.
Thanks

Corsair P128 CMFSSD-128GBG2D 2.5" 128GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive<--Not needed at all, I just wanted to play with one.
COOLER MASTER Stacker 830 RC-830-SSN3-GP<--Been using this for three years now, I like it.
ZALMAN CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler<--Also, I love these coolers, because I fear water cooling, and copper is pretty >_>
I have other hard drives, and disk drives in there, but that's pretty much it. Of course, I always wonder what I could do with a little bit more, or the latest CPU or GPU...but I have quieted the urge I used to have for shiny new things. For the most part...
Edit!
I got caught up looking at the new stuff out there, and for around what I spent last year on this stuff, I could nab an AMD six core processor, new motherboard, 12 gigs of ram, two new video cards of 400 series instead of 200, a new heatsink (Same, but black nickel plated copper). Of course, I won't, right now at least : p That, and I have not had an AMD system in...wait, no, ever >_> Stupid Intel, and your absurd six core prices.

BT, how much did you spend last year on that setup (if you don't mind me asking)?

Heh, no problem. I am a little curious how much mu computer cost me, actually. It will probably pain me to look at it >_>

Cost Today $164.99
So, all of those piece put together make my current machine, minus case fans, which collect like dust in my house, so I have no idea what I spent on them. Cost was about $2528.25 all together, which when I think about it, is absurd. Granted, different pieces I picked up here and there, but the most painful one to look at is the 750Gb HD from four years ago. Holy crap, how did I ever justify spending that much on a hard drive? I know costs have changed, but damn o.o
That, and there were other machines I used between here and there. I have learned over time how to curb my evil spending practices, if only a little. I don't purchase the newest, most awesomest overclocked high end crap from Nvidia or Intel any more. They over price, and oversell everything. I try to make my computers so they last a few good years, at least, which is why I am not planning anything new yet.
Still, it hurts to see where all the money went >_> You can get much more, for much less then I put in to it : p

Thanks for the info.
I am thinking maybe for my birthday in July or if I can hold out I want to build a nice rig by Christmas 2011.
Right now, I am running a P4 3.4Ghz, 4GB RAM and a HD 4670 AGP video card.
Surprisingly, it runs CoH very well, especially with the video card I added on very recently.
Once again, thanks....and the fact you can run 8 instances of CoH is downright sick!

>.> Did this stem from me challenging you last week when I caught you on like 4? lmao. I have a computer setup i'm planning on (hopefully) getting, it's pretty insane for $1500, and the CoH tech board guys held my hand designing it the whole way so it's not gonna be crap lol .
It has 2 460s, a quadcore black(they said it's faster than all the hexcore options in my configurator) and an SSD(no monitor though). If anybody wants to see it/the rest of the specs I'll post the active link.
BBT catching your 1girl armies running around is awesome lol, seeing your whole cluster of self-teammates zoom by is almost as exciting as hearing a dev is gonna be signing in on their "work" name on our server .
PS: the rainbow bonfire is aweeeesommmeeee O.O
and LOL at the badgetitles haha
10 50's To Date! Check out Titan Sentinel; it got my CoH presence synced online
The system that Kheldarn and I put together while on the phone one late night, combing Newegg is pretty Late 2009/Early 2010 Solid. I'll be going back over as I get closer to having the cash for it and updating specs here and there. My goal is to be able to run 8 instances, although I'll usually only be running 2-3 at a time.
@PG: Seeing BBT fly by is MORE exciting than a Dev showing up because BBT is One of Us... One of Us!!
Targeted Budget: $2500-$3000
Banked Total for New Rig: $1300 (+ uncashed $780 check*)
*trying really hard to not cash it till I have to because liquid assets flow too easily when things around me break and go bad. (Glaring at you Truck!)
Heh, if only I could be as cool as the signatures. But sadly, I cannot summon giant monster hoards, or award gold titles : ( Best I can manage for summoning is hoards of pets >_>
But I am always glad to entertain ^_^ Safety in numbers always seems appropriate for thse teams, and I am a big fan of powers like bonfire. Mostly situational in normal circumstances, but with aoe immobilize, it becomes a super mean attack for AVs. My plan is actually to grab sharkie powers, for the waterspouts. That power is just disgusting when the mobs cannot get away, or be knocked back.
On computer bits, I am jealous of all your plans for now computrons. Newegg is like a game for me, filling shopping carts with bits, and building mock machines. Just some suggestions, thoug. Don't be afraid to save a little money by taking the model just one step down from the top. Like with graphics cards and CPUs, the 2.8GHz model is usually the exact same architecture as the 300-400 dollar more expensive 3.2GHz extreme edition. With a little knowhow, most base models can be overclocked to the same, or greater speeds.
And on GPUs, the difference in capabilities between something in the same series, like a 460 compred to a 440 (fake model numbers, just as a rule) are minimal, outside of cost. The 400 series will largely be the same, especially when running in SLI or crossfire, for whicever brand you choose. While more games, and systems are capable of utilizing multiple GPUs, a lot of games out there still don't even recognize, or use the extra processing poer you are providing.
And though the tech forums probably gave some of the same advie, remember not to skimp on the power supply. The more components you put in to a machine, the more reliable you want your supply to be. Stable with high continuous output.
Ooooh! And on solid state drives, expensive for what they are right now. Really, it would be best if you could run a pair in RAID 0, then you see a real improvement in system speed if it is you OS drive. Still, I have noticed with my SSD, it can get VERY sluggish when running read/write operations. Like updating the coh client, I can hardly run any other sytem applications from the drive while it is working.
Sure, platter hard drives can be a little noisy, and they aren't the latest thing, but you definately get more value for your money with them. Running two 7200 drives in RAID can be pretty speedy too.
Muh, break is over, so back to work! It is where all themoney comes from, after all ; p. Have fun computing!

Hmmm...
I am no computer Wizz... but in about 24 hours I will be getting the little pieces for my new PC...
It will be a 2.8 I7 quad, an intel MB with lots of usb ports (i need those!!! too many devices!), 8 GB RAM DDR3. PS will be 750 W of real power, and I am thinking on a Coolermaster Dragon case.
I already have a 5750 ATI GPU, and i am thinking on getting another one of those, to link then... But if I do that Ill probably have to look for a stronger PS.
I use a Razer Lycosa keyboard (or, as my friends say, its the Kayboard), and probably will go for a Razer MMORPG Naga mouse (maybe even the molten edition).
I have some $2.5-3k to fool around on parts... I will be visiting a few dozen places to get all I want, and i will be paying in cash so i can squeeze a few more discounts...
And, as i am devillish and we have a pre-summer weather, i will probably use very light clothes to confuse the shop clerks...

Yes. I can get lost on a straight-line map.
Crikey! With all of you working on spiffy new coputer builds, am I going to have to be on the lookout for new one person super teams flying about? Or should I just make room in my lonely looney bin for company ^_^
We could start a super group for multi-account players. It would be the biggest SG for lonely people that play with themselves ever! Wait, that came out wrong...
I already have my personal SG for my super teams, with all the teleporters and raid capability. It is my hope that one day, I can have a three person CoP raid ^_^

I'm back!
Not that any one really missed me >_> I was out for a little over two weeks after the Halloween event, because my graphics cards took a dump on my system : p
Now, with a fresh new card in my machine, it's time for some kitties!
Jello cats!
Hah! I tricked you! That had nothing to do with Hami! But I was playing CoH in the background, so it's relevant >_>
The Infernal Catgirls can has imps now. Needs more imps >_> Only six at the moment, since one friend is off, and the other friend fixed their machine, so I cannot borrow their account any more. Shhh! You didn't hear that! I was just keeping their characters fresh, honest! <_<

Just thought I would share, since being a whole team can be kind of lonely work. It's up to seven now, and my sanity is slowly falling apart o.0 Though, it is fun during the Halloween event.
I hope every one else out there is having fun with it too!
