Powerset Respec

It'll never happen but here are my thoughts on how it could work.
1. Tie it to badges. Say the 500 one. Need to have at least 500 before you can
purchase it.
2. Have it cost 250-500 million at a store. This would cause inf to be removed from the
money supply to help reduce inflation.
3. Keep it within the AT. This way you can't level an 'easy' AT and then switch to a
powerful end game build.

So why would you have the first two reasons you ask? So the decision to switch powersets would not be on a whim. Now the reason I suggest this respec is because when I started badging the concept of what I wanted was not available at the time. Since I've been playing they have now included power customization and new powersets that better define my badgers concept. Having 830ish badges I really cannot bring myself to start all over on a brand new toon. Feel free to critique and hopefully a dev will read this and might actually implement it.

how about NO! i really wish people would stop bringing this up when THEY KNOW IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. re-roll. plain and simple.

The devs are on record *repeatedly* as being against this. Not "We don't think it will work," not "The tech isn't there," but a flat out NO. So, no, a dev won't read this and "actually implement this."

Know what? I've got multiple versions of my forum-namesake. Know why? When I started, the original concept wasn't available. 36 possible slots on each of 4 or 11 servers, depending on EU or NA. Reroll.

As I've said in other threads on this same topic, badges are the lamest excuse for wanting a power set respec. It would be far simpler for the devs to make those few badges we can't get anymore account based like the vet rewards are rather than character based like the anniversary badges.

And personally I have a character I would love to respec out of what I feel was a poor choice of power sets. However unlike you I rolled up a new character despite the fact that I can't replace the badges she has.

-sigh- No.

It will never happen. It's been shot down every single time this topic comes up, on occasion by devs themselves. If you want to know the arguments against the idea, feel free to peruse any of countless threads on that topic.

Unfortunately I know the arguments. The idea was spinning in my head and I had to get it out. It's not that I don't want to reroll. 1-50 is a fun ride. I don't mind buying new IO's.
It's the thought of grinding out all those badges again. The first time was fun but I don't see myself doing all those again.
So I guess the powerset respec was the wrong vantage point to come from (easiest but still wrong).

this is why we have a search function. use it. and no to making badges other then anniversary ones account wide.

-shrugs- I personally wouldn't mind the ability to reroll a character with badges in place. It may not happen, but far as I see, there's no downsides.

But respeccing into the same level with different powersets is just a bad idea all around.
