Where are super groups recruiting

So I have a question about super group recruitment. Where do people recruit new SG members these days? When I left the game a few years ago people were still spamming SG recruitments in AP and other zones, some with more class then others but none the less still spamming. Since coming back I haven’t heard any SG recruitment requests over the chat channels. Have I just not been paying attention or are people just recruiting privately these days, or have SG’s kind of falling out of favor, I’m seeing a lot of players running around without SG affiliation?

A couple of factors:
Global channels and global friends make sg's less needed for teaming.
The improvements to the Search menu as well.
Prestige costs for bases and well as rent have been drastically reduced, so there's less sg's farming noobs for prestige.

Stand near any of the markets for long enough in the evenings and you'll see a few broadcasts for recruting.. Also still see broadcasts in Mercy and Atlas of people trying to recruit lowbies.

On Freedom, Villain side, I recruit in all zones but will do Cap Au Diable more often than others. For teams and SFs, I prefer to run with the coalition instead of random folks because I have an idea of how some coalies play and can adjust my playstyle to the team. I also learn which coalies underperform or are disruptive, so if I am leading a SF, I can politely decline to invite them.

If you need a vill group, I can invite you to Dark Kingdom or Shadow Souls, both of which are in the top 100 and are active.

People don't really recruit anymore for numerous reasons...

1. Not a lot of new people in the game, most people are well established in a group already and put their alts in the group as well.

2. A lot of people are starting off in Praetoria and thus no SGs. As with one they are usually already apart of a group anway.

3. SGs really have lost a lot of their meaning...I mean really there is no good reason to be apart of one anymore. With teleporters becoming obsolete in i19, what point do they have?

SGs are for friends nowadays and starting one is next to impossible.

I know, my wife and I tried and have recently given up on it as well as deciding to leave the game. SGs really are about friends and I am sure if you went advertising that you are looking for one people will be happy to pick you up. Just don't expect to see broadcast all that often anymore as it is becoming rather pointless.

Part Pack: Now the majority of players know how we, PvPers, have felt for years now. Don't want to be so "civil" now that you have been completly ignored, do you?

Another possibility is that many people have 'solo SGs'. Shamelessly, I am one of those people. Reason for this is that I had joined a couple of groups only to have some leaders rant and rave on how some members are not participating in events and such. Since starting my own group, it's been peace and tranquility for me.

And global channels are your best friends now.

I've led guilds in a bunch of different games over the last decade, and the best way to recruit quality players is always to do it one on one. That's what I'm doing now.

I did the broadcast thing at CoV release. Back then there was value in having numbers because PvP mattered and having an Item of Power in your base meant having enough good players to protect it from raids.

When the devs killed IoPs, they gutted guilds. At this point they're a shiny label, possibly a place to find good groups, and secure storage for enhancements and salvage.

As others have said, I don't see a ton of SG recruiting any more, for suspected reasons already posted. However, that doesn't mean there aren't SGs welcoming new people. If you're looking for a SG, I recommend posting about it in the forums for the server(s) you're interested in finding an SG on. Most of the active SGs that are interested in new inductees seem likely to have a forum presence, at least in the server forums.

In missions. No AP broadcasts for me. I want to know the people in my SG, I don't want a prestige farm. It's how I was recruited, it's how my SGs tend to recruit.

I know my SG recruits, and probably the traditional way of broadcasting in zones. The leader did a whole bunch of recruiting just this past weekend. He apparently feels good when there's new blood in the SG and lots of people to team with, and he tries to get people on vent to talk to as well of course.

Our SG exists largely to run lots of TFs and teams, we have multiple divisions, you're not going to know everyone in the SG but I know a lot of the regulars by now. Not a prestige farm, I think only one division of the SG is even in the top 100 on Virtue last I looked, but I do think it's a good resource for new players to ask questions and for people to find TFs and teams easily. Admittedly global channels accomplish the same thing, but a SG feels a bit more personal since you team with the same people more often.

I also run a small solo SG so I'm in that camp too. Previously I teamed a lot via global channels for several years; I never had trouble finding teams or joining TFs, but I wasn't talking to and teaming with the same people every night. I'm having more fun, running more TFs than before. I think even now a well-run SG is better than going it alone.

Thanks for the replies, I personally am not looking for a super group, I’m the founder of an old school SG that’s been around since year one.

I left the game two years ago for personal reasons and left the group in the hands of my second who did a wonderful job of keeping everyone in the group that didn’t leave the game altogether, but she has said that recruitment was never a strong suite for her and slowly people left.

Now that Going Rouge is out and more people are joining the game and coming back, like myself, I would like to rebuild the group and make new friends.

Our group is old school more interested in friends and game content then farming for influence, but from past experiences I know that you invite 10 new members and get one that really fits the group and becomes a long term member so some turnover is expected.

Thumbs up.

I have a few SGs that I run (I like multiple ones, so they can be different thematically), and over the years I've only recruited after teaming with someone several times. Usually people are already in an SG and the usual result of frequent teaming is when they make an alt, they make an alt that will fit in with one of my SGs.

If I see someone who is not affiliated with an SG, and their look, or name, or backstory "feels" right for one of my SGs, I might chat them up for teaming. Teaming should come first.

I think only the Great Lakes Avengers ever did a big public recruiting drive in the comics.

If there is less SG broadcast spam now, then I'm glad.
