What is Incarnate System and Alpha Slot?

The Wiki is always a good place to start. But since I19 hasn't even hit closed beta yet, there isn't much info available.

it's a buff pretty much, one you get it and slot it, you be more powerful then others that don't have an Incarnate slot. However you still need to slot it or you going to die alot when doing Incarnate Content.

paragon wiki doesn't explain EXACTLY what it is, and I figured it is a buff. However, some places say it's a new powerset or just a new bonus power. I'm just confused.
This is as far as we got on the Incarnate System in Issue 18's Beta.

We've already seen leaks of various "Interface" boosters that are nothing like the Alphas we've seen.
In either case, I look forward to being able to maek stuff.

We know some of the Incarnate related stuff involves level shifting - having our or our enemies combat levels adjust up or down.
