Help for a Force Field Defender

I made this character with Force Fields and Energy blaster figuring I love mez protection and love being elusive but i have a question. i19 comes out and stamina goes inherent and i was thinking get tough and weave but I'm not sure if Dispersion Bubble, Maneuvers, Tough, Weave, & Combat jumping will stifle my character endurance wise. I'm planning to spend around like 300mil for him so my Question is will the addition of tough and weave kill my stamina?

Possible, since we don't know your slotting. Actually I would go with only Weave, since your bubble gives defense too. You could also not take Tough & Weave, since you have PFF (I hope). If a mob gets tough, hit PFF and use the med pool self heal before getting back into the fight. That's what I do with my bubbler, and I won't be taking Tough and Weave when i19 comes out.

Don't you know that discussion of power selection/slotting can ONLY be based on hearsay, rumor, idle speculation, and bald-faced lies??!? ~Elf_Sniper

That's what i was thinking do weave/tough for i19 , i plan on slotting my blasts with Thunderstrikes and my defense with Red Fortunes. A steadfast +3 def in my tough, and 1 KB proc in my combat jumping. also an 1 or 2 end reductions in tough

It will be very difficult to run all of those toggles unless you invest in IOs that improve your recovery. Without IOs, you might be better off without the fighting pool.

My own personal FF/Energy (at level 30) went with Dispersion, Maneuvers, and Hover
This gets you to around 25% defense to all with just generic IOs.
My character has 4-slots of thunderstrike in each of his single target attacks, which puts ranged, and energy a little higher. Since he is a hover-blaster, that works well. And finally, instead of getting steadfast +3% defense IO (like most of my characters do by this level), I used my first pile of merits to get the Miracle +recovery IO for health, and that gets my net End recovery right around 2eps. Thats a number that a veteran told me awhile ago as a good target, and it works very well for all my toons.

As far as steadfast and resistance in general, I will wait for my ancillary shield to get those, and like Pinkpup, I also use the PFF + Aid Self when I get into trouble. But I am tech origin, so the tricoder works for me.

With I19, I will probably pick up leaping and just take Combat Jumping instead of fighting. Gives more defense, without any major increase in end use.

If Reward Merits or Hero/Villain Merits are in your future often, it's not too difficult to get LotG 7.5, Numina/Miracle Uniques, etc. Just a little patience and saving up.

MY FF/Sonic ran Dispersion (with Red Fortune), Manouvers (Red Fortune), CJ (basic slotting), Tough (with Aegis + SteadFast Unique) and Weave (Red Fortune).
So the expensive toggles had at least 50% end redux, possibly 95% in some.

I also had aound +10% Recovery from IO bonuses I think, and the Atlas Medallion and Portal Jockey accolades for 5 extra Endurance each.

My attacks had over 50% end redux typically, and I still ran out of endurance. Adding the Performance Shifter unique to Stamina on top of 3 end mod equivalents helped out a lot.

During longer battles, I'd turn off Tough, that also helped big time.

Performance Shifter isn't a unique, so *if* we had access to physical perfection, you could slot it twice.

Secondly, there's also other wise to get endurance via your epic pools. Power, Dark, Elec, Mu, and to a much lesser extent Leviathan masteries all have some endurance gain or endurance redux power to help with your endurance issues. Just to keep an open mind in the epic choices.

I would take Tough and Weave, and use Tough for a mule to put a Res/Def in, without actually running it. ~15% resistance to smashing and lethal isn't worth the end cost of Tough to me.

So true....

And don't forget, when you're on a team... who are all in those bubbles you provided, there won't be alot of nasties left alive long enough to injury your bubbler. On the ITFs my bubbler has been on, its usually some red boss hacking me down that causes the problems. And while Tough and Weave would help, not sure it could handle a group of bosses you can get while hunting the generals in the third mission.

So if you go solo alot, sure... if you're a solid group bubbler, I would take more of the Leadership pool or something else to help the group.

As for the 300 mil, get guide and learn the play the markets. A little extra hour or two a week and you can easily double your money. Merits... a little extra work and you can start getting enough for some reward rolls. Lately on the server I play on, we been running Hami raids twice a week.

If you're using Thunderstrikes, it's very easy to get 50+% end reduction in your attacks, AND get additional End Recovery and lots of it. Attacks are the big end killer; a very old rule of thumb was "one end red in one attack pays for one toggle." You can also get 50% reduction in your toggles very easily.

Frankenslotting three Def/End from different sets and a Def gives you, roughly, 60% end red and 56% [ED-capped] defense, and you can still do it for less than a million inf per power.

Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.

So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.

I have a FF/Dark bubbler and I run all these toggles. I also run Mind Over Body (the shield from the EPP).

I also have NO IO's slotted. I do have some Hami's slotted.

The great thing about being a bubbler is you can manage that endurance. The buffs only need to be refreshed every 4 minutes(I may be wrong on number). And you can attack when you want to or can.

I guess solo it would be pretty brutal, but Im guessing you didnt choose to run a FF and solo.

Okay, don't have an FF/Energy build available to me, but I just rebuilt my FF/Archery defender. Figured it might give some insight.

Capped Ranged and AOE with 36% Melee defense (and it's a flier).

Literally waltzed through an MoSTF last week right after the rebuild.
Didn't get a chance to test it in a ship raid this week (due to the zone filling before I could get in-game), though I will next week.
