Bind for alt power trays

Hey guys, I like to put my travel powers in the 6th slot on the 4th power tray. I got a bind for that slot here on the forum and I swear it used to work:

/bind 1 “powexec_tray 6 4”

It isn't working now...I'm thinking I changed something without realizing it. Any obvious errors there?

I just bind my travel powers directly to a key instead of binding to a specific slot in a tray.

Like this: /bind KEY powexecname Super Jump

I usually put mine bout to F or G. In the case of Combat Jumping/Super Jump I put CJ on F and SJ on G. I will sometimes bind Sprint to H.

That's what I used before.

But my plan was to dedicate those slots (#6, #7) to the travel power pairs like SJ/CJ and Fly/Hover. That way it works no matter what travel power I take and can just be a part of the saved keybinds for every new character.

Thanks Claws.

Last I checked, you cannot bind to a specific tray number.

The closest you can do is to use slot, altslot, and alt2slot which bind to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd displayed trays in the main power tray.

PowExec_Tray is supposed to do exactly what he's trying to do.

Works here ok. I'd suggest double checking to make sure the power is exactly where you think it is and that you typed in the command correctly. Use /ShowBind to double check it.

Your command is working just fine for me. Did you remember to put the power there first? lol (I had to ask)
Actually, looking more closely at it, make sure you are using the standard quotes (""), not the fancy curly ones that you used in here. (“”) probably wont work.

Very good catch. My poor old eyes couldn't see that. The fancy curly ones like that do not work. For a single command like this, you don't even need the quotes. Only when you chain multiple commands with the double dollar signs ($$) (and the occasional fancy chat binds) do you need the quotes.

I copy and pasted directly from my "CoH stuff" doc I keep...so those curly quotes must be the problem. I have no idea where they came from though. It's the "arial" font in the word doc...could that be the problem?

Just tried it again after retyping the quotes....it worked. Thanks guys! That's a new one to me. I got that bind from this board a while back...I must have converted those quotes somehow.

edit: I had to retype the quotes in-game after trying a couple different fonts in the doc...they are "wrong" for some reason. (I made a note lol)

It's not the font that's the problem, it's the "auto correct" feature of your word processor. I know both Microsoft's Word and OpenOffice's Writer both do this.

Here's a (hopefully) helpful link: How to Turn Straight Quotes Into Curly Quotes (and Vice Versa) in Word

Awesome! My (older) version of Word was slightly different but I figured it out. Thanks!
