Alignment timer resets everytime you reaffirm?

That is a different timer. Look at your status icons, and you should see a power called "Countdown to X". Right click on that, and select info. It should say when it expires. That is when you will get the badge & temp power if you remain the same alignment.

Related to this: I actually lost my countdown after the last patch that fixed the timer exploit. I didn't use the exploit to get the alignment power. I still had my alignment (vigilante) and had gone through the required seven days. But when I check - I had no alignment power and no countdown timer (which means basically that I now have to re-run the 10 mishes and morality mish to get back to "countdown" status).
Anyone else have this problem?

twelfth: I've never heard of that happening. That doesn't mean much though.

I completed my first vigilante alignment switch mission last sunday so now I want to know if I'm still going to get the 7 day badge for maintaining this alignment. I still do vigilante tips and the alignment mission every 2 days but it seems to reset the timer in the alignment tab under the personal info window.
So is this working the way it should? Or will doing vigilante alignment missions keep me from ever getting the 7 day badge. I plan to do the 7 day badge for villain, and rogue before finally coming back to heroes.
