Sadly, we have to take Tartie off our list of functional couples in geekdom. At least, for now.

I was thinking about that list and how, when someone else posted it, you and I both responded "But it's too early. Anything could happen!"

Season 2, Episode 1 Spoilers

I'm listening to a youtube version of Glee's Telephone. I think I love it because of the irony of the scene: Rachel's finally met someone that can take her in the battlefield of showtunes, and she lets loose with her full rage and talent. Sunshine, though, optimistic and kind, is simply happy to have someone to sing with. She's smiling and goofy the entire time, completely oblivious to the damage that she's doing to Rachel's psyche and ego.

She's as good as Rachel, but actually nice and with a personality. She's a great antagonist because, unlike Jesse St. James or Coach Sue, she isn't a worse person than Rachel. She's a better person, which is giving Rachel a chance to realize what a jerk she's been. I hope we get to see more of that.

SPOILER... OFF!

Though I knew they would be singing Telephone (and thought perhaps Gaga was a silent executive producer after "Theatrical" and now "Audition" ), it may have been the second best song of the night (Empire State of Mind beats it in terms of choreography, but I think the singing on Telephone is better).

I guess what I'm asking is, what is the main appeal of the show for you? A general "you", not directed at anyone in particular.

I can get my share of the music elsewhere, so if that's the best part about it, I'll probably pass. But I have heard the word that the show's really funny. Like "laugh out loud" funny, or that charming, feel good kind of funny? I hope what I'm trying to articulate there makes sense.
I like Glee because the show takes chances and is not afraid to try different things in terms of conventional programming. Just look at the basic concept: who would have thought a dark comedy/drama/musical would be successful on prime time television? Sometimes the things they try work and sometimes it doesn't. I was losing enthusiasm for the show just when it started getting popular because I thought it was getting to be too much of a soap opera and not enough comedy. But there are usually a few moments every week that make it worth watching for me whether its the music, the comedy, or the character development.

I want to see that episode NOW!

If only there was some sort of warp involving time...

I was going to ask this summer, after the end of last season who you would cast from the show for roles in Rocky Horror.

Finn - Brad
Janet - Rachel
Puck - Rocky
Brittany - Columbia
Santana - Magenta

Those are the easy picks. Artie as Dr Scott is too obvious and he can't do the traditional dual role as Eddie. No great loss as Hot Patootie - Bless My Soul isn't one of the memorable songs from Rocky Horror. Same with casting Kurt as Frank, too obvious of a choice. That still leaves the narrator and Riff.

But I'm betting that the groups rendition of Science Fiction/Double Feature will send chills down my spine.

The song list for the Rocky Horror episode has been released. The cast will perform "Science Fiction Double Feature," "Damn It, Janet," "Whatever Happened To Saturday Night?," "Sweet Transvestite," "Touch-A Touch-A Touch-A Touch Me," and "There's A Light (Over At The Frankenstein Place)."

It hasn't been released who sings which songs. There is a rumor that "Touch-A Touch-A Touch-A Touch Me" might be sung by Emma (Jayma Mays), who actually sang the song in her Glee audition. There was also a rumor that Kurt (Chris Colfer) would sing a song, but the song associated with that rumor isn't on the released song list.

Two of the original film's cast will guest star in the episode. Meat Loaf and Barry Bostwick will cameo as TV station managers who "have an interesting proposal" for Sue Sylvester.

It's going to air on Oct. 26.

Yoink! New avatar...

It was a great episode. After so many storylines flattened out in season 1, they needed to throw a lot of new stuff in there for season two and they certainly did. Looking forward to seeing where they go from here.

Just read complaints that Rachel's treatement of Sunshine, as well as Tina and Mike's getting together, were racist...

... It takes a special kind of illiteracy to be unable to understand Glee. It's the most Anvilicious show on televison, and the one time it doesn't explicitly state its message, you miss it.

Well done. Achievement Unlocked.

Tina and Mike getting together was obviously making fun of "Oh, they are going to get together because they are Asian."

Jacob Ben Israel was freakin' accused of that in his questioning of their relationship in the first 5 minutes!

(By the way, my crush of Jenna Ush... grew in this episode)
