Bruce Campbell wants to make "The Expendables" of horror
While I love the idea of seeing "The Expendables" of horror. I'd rather see it take itself a bit more serious.
Not have Bruce play himself.
I'm not saying it can't have the B-movie feel, I'd just like it to be a bit more...hmmm...I guess I'm thinking taking itself a bit more serious, and less, "okay this is going to be a stupid but fun loving horror movie"...I think that's what I mean

most of the people I'd suggest for this are all dead...;_;

If he can round up all the big names in horror for this, I will be there opening night. I love campy movies. |
Although I did have one question about the Expendables; when Mickey Rourke had that scene of recounting how he could have saved that woman and didn't I thought to myself "What is this rather excellent bit of acting doing in this movie?"
Seriously though, the Expendables was for the most part a fun movie and a horror movie star Expendables style movie would be awesome.
...and of course to send this over the top, at the end of the film, Bruce Campbell and Jeffrey Combs need to high five as the parting shot, with the rest of the cast, looking on, as the hair metal starts to play for the credits.
The full interview in the LA Times is well worth reading, especially for Bruce's reflections on the Evil Dead movies.
And as for his It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World of Horror pitch: Naomi Watts (Children of the Corn IV, The Ring, Funny Games).
Oh man, such a movie........wow.....please make this!

Did Expendables have the biggest, most complicated plots ever? Nope.
Was it suppossed to? Nope.

I thought that "excellent bit of acting" being put in the movie was what brought the whole plot together

Wasn't expecting any serious plot, was just shocked at that great scene and how out of place it felt in the movie despite it putting the plot together and into motion.
Also Dolph Lundren playing a burnt out, junkie soldier who enjoys the killing a little too much.....okay I guess they decided to have him play his Universal Soldier character again. Also, is it my imagination or was it his ego that dictated his character survive that chest wound Stallone gave him?
Still it is a shame that Wesley Snipes was either unavailable or unwilling, and Steven Seagal was just plain unwilling to be in this movie (previous problems with the producers according to interviews), along with Van Damme (Van Damme due to ego).
Was Chuck Norris asked to be in this?
The cameo doesn't even have to be visual, they coudl always have Lee be the Narrator or a voice on a phone.
