Need some help defending Scrappers to my Brute loving friend

The Fury bar has to be a little over half-filled before the typical Brute's damage output equals the typical Scrapper, right? Not terribly difficult even at the lowest levels and certainly not at the highest. There will be moments below the Scrapper level and there will be moments above. Neither will last terribly long.

Tell your friend that a good scrapper doesn't need to debate, they let their actions speak for themselves.

Before the changes, I'd have said the Brute wins easily. They had better offensive potential, better defenses/defensive potential and held aggro better.

Now they've still got the better defenses/defensive potential but Scrappers pretty much win for offense.

Mechanically, Brutes will benefit more from teams due to the buffs that tend to be present and will contribute more do to their aggro holding (the aggro they want to maximise Fury). Scrappers will continue being solo kings.

Seems like a fair tradeoff to me. Personally, I'll still invite a Brute over a Scrapper to a team any day for a few not-strictly-mechanical reasons.

End result? Nerf. A nerf at level 1. A nerf at level 50. A nerf solo. A nerf while teamed.

I still don't disagree with the nerf, but a nerf is a nerf.

Nerf.
Nerf is a fun word to say. Nerf. Nerf nerf nerf. That is all.

Therefore, nerf.
What about those BRute players who saw an increase in their performance? Does this mean it was a buff?

No. It means either they are delusional or the sucked at bruting before.

That word cracks me up a little every time I read it in my head.

...Scrapping, controlling, blasting, tanking, defending, stalking, dominating, corrupting, masterminding ...

...Bruting.

Yes, OP, tell that to your Brute-backing friend - Brute is the only nonepic AT that cannot, strictly speaking, be made into a gerund. He's sure to see the light immediately.

Amen.

While certain brutes of mine aren't *minding* the change and are seeing fury build faster (my cloak of fear using Dark armor for example) the 'steamroll' is less steamy. Or rolly. Whichever. Once even that brute got up to speed, which took no more than a spawn, her performance was much better than it is now. In fact I'd say the only brute I have who enjoys the changes is a dark melee/energy aura ... but that's not a brute. It's a stalker with anger management issues.

And as for the brutes who were built to *never* stop fighting, dragging survivors from a mostly defeated spawn into a new one if finishing them off would cost fury? A brute *player* should be seeing a decrease in performance, regardless of changes to specific *brutes*. So yeah... nerf.

That was awesome.
