Iconic Heroes / Villains!

Well. I'm sure we all have these, a hero or villain of our creation who is really iconic to us / iconic in story. So, I've got a few questions.

1.) Who are your iconic characters? Name + Powersets work, plus "alignment" if you want to.

2.) What makes them iconic?

3.) What, overall, to you, makes an iconic character.

I'll post mine at a later date, because I have facedesked about twice in one minute, from sleepiness.

I would say my most iconic villain is Lord Stormbringer (Elect/Storm Corruptor). He is an ancient Scandinavian demigod who posessed the body of a Norwegian contstruction worker. He is bent on world conquest but is hindered by his frail mortal shell's inability to channel the full might of his awesome power.

My most iconic hero on Virtue is probably Captain Astonishing (SS/Inv Tanker). "Captain Astonishing" started as a comic strip character in Paragon City in the 1930s. Later the character was adapted for a radio show, a movie serial, a comic book and a short-lived kids TV show in the 1960s.

The TV show was considered too "trippy" and "psychadelic" for mainstream audiences and was cancelled after only 30 episodes. That was the last people had heard of the character until 2008 when a real life hero calling himself Captain Astonishing showed up on the streets of Paragon City. No one knew where he came from, or who he was, but he was such a shining beacon of justice and virtue that even the litigation-happy owners of the Captain Astonishing trademark - Megaultracorp, LLC - couldn't bring themselves to sue him.

My most iconic character?

This guy.

I'll let you folks figure out why.

Because we can hardly see anything in that pic and that must mean the NPC has an anti-photographic aura? A paparazzi's worst nightmare...

Before anything, I've been trying to figure out a way of posting this kind of topic for a while, but my over-creative streak prevented me from figuring out a "normal" way of doing so. Thank you.

1. Malleable Mechanic, Invuln/WM/Leaping Tanker, Heroic. He's the son of a retired hero who now owns a shop in Atlas. Unfortunately, from the time he was born he was plagued with skin rashes that could only be kept at bay with medicinal cremes and the like. That was until, however, a reaction with his skin, the cream, and some spilled fuel (possibly even a hidden mutation that triggered, you heard it here first!) caused his body to transform into an organic rubber-like material. Although he was hesitant at first to use his new powers for the greater good, he has since grown accustomed to running around Paragon City and tackling problems with "one fix at a time".

A lot of people really like him for some reason or another: for his bio, for his "costume", for everything. People tell me he's relatable and more so than certian actual heroes of the stretching category (to which I say "not really stretching, but just really flexible and bouncy" :<). Even though he's basically a guy with tire-skin who carries a big wrench, drinks oil and plays hero most of the day, he still works at the shop when his old man's busy and has other human vulnerabilities. Perhaps it's the fact that he's still a "normal guy" at the end of the day makes him stand out.

2. Cumulatrole, Storm/Elec/Flight Defender, Heroic. A teenager from Canada who has made Paragon City his home: when he manifested his powers as a cloud-like mutant, he ran from his previous life to start anew. It was difficult for him to adjust and for the longest time he didn't trust others, but meeting Gravity Blast and being inducted into the New Age Mutants has helped him grow into a stronger-willed person.

Hands down, RPing from 5' human to 8' cloud-man in a big poof and watching everyone's reaction is as iconic as you can get with this guy. Great party trick, I assure you, but to be honest: the 8-footer actually came first. Once I got the second slot the whole concept really went forward.
