endless discussion of Ninjitzu
Hey yall!
I know that */Nin is an ANCIENT topic. I also know that defense sets for PvP is an ancient topic aswell.. However, Im wondering. How does */Nin really preform in PvP?? A lot of the arguments for Nin is that it has great defense of course, and it has a self heal.. Plus some tools like Caltrops and Blinding Powder.. But how does they really fare in PvP?? Do they really make a difference these funny tools :P ?? Uhh and please look past the last power xD A powerset is more than one power.. Im wondering about the set as a whole, and which powers can be skipped and why ^^ |
guy above me is wrong ninjitzu is good for pvp.
Fast recharging heal, blinding powder to get someone off your tail, if you wanna build defense just worry abut range and try to get it to 60% it will DR down to about 40ish which is noticeable especially for peeps that don't work accuracy bonuses in. Plus it has retsu a clone of elude which is also sweet just pay attention to when it crashes so you can duck out and rest.
oh ya it's got a kb hole may wanna do something about that almost forgot.
edit forgot: which powers to skip
caltrops ok for no brain enemys, less then useless for a stalker against real peeps.
smoke flash i think is useless too, to small radius but that might be just me idk.
everything else I would take.
/Nin is pretty good in PvP.
DR affects everyone's defense, so a defense based set can still do better
(comparatively) than a non-defense based set... ie. anytime you can make
someone miss, it's only a Good Thing.
This is also a good synergy with Ninja Blade's Divine Avalanche which will
boost Melee def as well (to helpful levels). I've annoyed several tanks and
scrappers that way.
You've also got a quick heal and perception in there.
Trops is far better in PvE than PvP, but it still can help occasionally.
So, /Nin is one of the better secondarys for PvP imho.

What about blinding powder and Smoke? Are they even useable in PvP ?
What about primary?
A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

If you're going to roll /Nin for PvP, make sure you build in as much ranged defense as you can and have at least 41 points of KB protection. It can work if you work at it.
"the reason there are so many sarcastic pvpers is we already had a better version of pvp taken away from us to appease bad players. Back then we chuckled at how bad players came here and whined. If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict
Not really. BP used to be handy to have in PvP, but the mez changes really took a lot of the life out of it.

Basically, yes. However, the value of a self heal in PvP is considerable. When you have a low HP cap and your defenses can be trivialized in a lot of ways, a good self heal can be the only thing saving you from a narrow escape and getting killed in short order.

However, I dislike the concept that one of the def sets that is considered on the top 3 for a lot of ppl is JUST because it got a self heal :P and 3 rather useless powers xD ..
Im still considering SR because it has quite a higher def rate than nin and tho it got no heal, it do got quickness <3 ..
Are there any hope that Ninjitzu will undergo som changes? To make the different tools more PvP reliable.. I mean it seems harsh that we got a placate which is rather useless, and blinding powder as well... And caltrops which you just can fly or jump away from.. I mean.. duuuuhh
Point taken ^^

comparatively, because it's easier for you to get some of it back.
And, personally, I find the perception valuable as well as the heal.
As for 41 KB - I've never bought into that, especially on a Stalker who can
pick and choose his targets. Unless we're talking arena or PvP league it's
not that big of a deal imho. Other AT's, maybe more so.
