What secondary besides the obvious can look like darkness?

I'm making up a new character. Will use Waraxe, I already know that, but I want a secondary that I can color to look like darkness, but that is not dark armor because I already have too many of those and don't want another one (though I do enjoy dark armor, I've just overdosed on it hehe).

Was thinking maybe energy because I have never done one. Invulnerability I don't think will work too well. I tried in the costume designer and just didn't like what I was coming up with. Shame because I've been wanting an invlun character.

Has anyone gotten Willpower to look dark? I'm not really visually creative enough I think may be the issue.

You mean like cloudy dark (akin to Dark Armor sorta grey/black) or just pitch black? Going just plain dark I'd use Willpower/Energy Aura/Fiery Aura (that'd look cool, dark flames >:)/Electric Armor, just basically take anything, set it on it's dark side and hit all black :D. The more 'grey' cloudy look would be more challenging, but I suppose Fiery/Energy Aura or possibly Willpower could pull that one off as well.

Have you tried using some of the auras that you can get at level 30? You'd have to wait till 30 to get your look, but you could use Invulnerability or WP and turn off the effects with power customization.

You might be able to color Super Reflexes a dark color, and its default graphics are somewhat cloud-like. Those two things together could make the set look a bit like Dark Armor, I suspect.

I'll add that /SR can be colored to get VERY dark. I've used the dark settings for power customization and come out with a trail of UTTER BLACKITY BLACK DARKINESS when they move. Now, this doesn't isn't something where there's a shroud around them, though, so when they are standing still, you probably won't notice it as much.

Fire Armor can be tweaked to go dark and can look like enshrouding darkness.
Willpower can be tweaked, but it'll look more like a dark aura/halo rather than something all encompassing.

I would say your best bet is going to be Energy Aura because it has a stealth power that allows for transparency without the need for a power pool dip (plus Stealth isn't that transparent anyway). With all your Energy shields up I think it looks fairly decent for a dark-themed set.

I wouldn't advise Willpower, just not enough graphically going on there.

I wouldn't suggest /SR either, not really the same visual and I think black colors for SR's toggles just looks choppy, doesn't look really 'good' like Dark Armor's fluffyness.

ELA in all black looks pretty sweet IMO. My DM/ELA has one of his costumes tinted as such.

Thanks all!

Synergy-wise how do axe/SR and axe/Energy work?

I don't have either a BA/SR or BA/EA but I'm guessing all that KB mitigation in Battle Axe would pair well with both SR and EA, especially EA since it is squishy in the first place.

@everyone who asked for more detail on the look I'm going for. The concept would be ideal for a stalker, but they don't get Waraxe and I don't think they ever will.

It's a 6-foot-5 beast-man-style bruiser who for all intents and purposes should be on battlefields acting as a shock trooper taking out whole units, instead became an assassin because he thinks it's funny to see the look on people's faces when they think it's a little thief-style person sneaking up on them and instead find someone that big and brutal. His darkness powers and stealth comes from a pledge to Nyx, the Greek Goddess/Personification of Night.

Doesn't need the specific cloudy effect from dark armor, but something flashy. One of the best things about dark armor is how flashy it is. Especially the screaming faces in the fear aura heh.

In terms of playstyle, I'm fond of fire and forget sets. Willpower is ideal, just toggle and go. So EA is a bit off compared to SR in that sense, but neither is so bad. Do knockback sets work better for typed or positional defenses? I've never really looked.
