Kryptonite for medicinal purposes
The Death of Superman story proved that sunlight is his miracle drug. Unless he has green K embedded in him, there is no real need for medicine (plus if he does somehow contract an illness, it always some kind of drink that helps him get better).
Wasn't it supergirl, somwhere, somwhow at some point in time had to have an operation that involved a robot arm/machinetype thing that had a Kryptonite scalpel attached to it?
May have been JLA but not certain (Somthing to do with Cadmus making Galatea?)

*edit*
Here we go, Legacy, Part 2, after a brainwashed Superman almost kills her in Part 1.
After watching Superman Returns, (yeah bad movie just wanted a Superman fix) I got to thinking, does Superman keep a bit of Kryptonite for Medicinal purposes? I got this thought after the scene when the doctor tried to give him a shot and the needle broke. Heaven forbid someone should wound Superman to such a degree that he needs medical attention, but if he did need an opporation to stop internal bleeding, or some such, how does he have one?
Just a random thought.
Has there ever been a time where Superman recieved medical attention, and how did he get it?
