Slotting my first Purple Set Ever Questions
I would slot them into one of your light ranged attacks, like channel gun or single shot (or possibly longfang/burst if you skip over the T1 attacks). The proc has a chance to fire every time you active the power, and purple procs have a 33% chance of this... which can do some surprising additional damage in the long run. Yeah if you miss on an attack it won't go off so frankenslot it to get the other aspects of the power up to par (additional damage and accuracy).
Also, Apocalypes are IMO one of the better purple sets due to the set bonuses. I'd 6-slot whatever you place those 3 into and add 3 devistations for +56 hps and 28% regen. Later on down the road when you get your hands on two more apocs you can slot all 5 for the "Ultimate recharge bonus" (10%), which is one of the reasons why purples are such a huge draw.
Or, alternatetively you could just sell them before the market merger happens and reap the rewards. Last time I looked I think the proc alone was selling for like 300 million villain side.
Best attack would be the ranged attack you use most often. This will make the proc go off most during a long period of time resulting in highest overall damage.
It is also generally a good idea to slot for ED capped damage (95% or something close to that) and after that use procs, so I'd suggest you add a damage IO. You could also add an accuracy, but I'm not sure if you'll need that if you have TT: Tactics.

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
Generally, I never get useful Purple set drops, but I've been hanging onto three recipes that I got on two different toons to use on my Crab Soldier when he hits 47. Right now, he's 45.
To this point, I've tended to use Generic IOs rather than the set bonus ones, so I have some questions which may be rather dumb ...
I've got three Apocalypse Recipes: Chance for Negative Energy Damage, Dam/End Reduction, and Dam/Rec/Accuracy.
What would be the best attack I could slot them into? And will I need an extra damage slot on that power because the Chance for Negative Energy won't be doing standard damage if it doesn't hit?
