DM/Fire?
I have one that I started long before IO's came around but once I got into the mid 30's with him I got distracted and never finished him off. You have 2 heals, 2 ways to recover endurance, and 2 'build up' type powers. I found it alot of fun and it's always possible I'll go back and finish the trip to 50 and get some IO's on him.
Yeah DM/Fire is a fun combination with 2 Heals, 2 End recoveries etc. However it still won't be able to tank AVs easily in the late game like the Granites and Invuls will be able to do.
DM is also quite ST focused so it's not a popular farming set. DM isn't great in PvP atm either, iirc but that is by no means my area of expertise. All I hear is lolmelee.
However the above points are no reason not to make one. I'm sure it could be very powerful in the late game with some good defence/recharge/max HP from IOs. If you need help with a build I'd be happy to help.

My very first brute! Overall, it was a dissappointing run in retrospect. While the 2 sets mesh fairly well, CoV side really kicks this pair around the gutter. End drains, slows, psi damage are all a bit more request red side and Fire has zero protection aganist this. If I had to do it over again I would've picked other pairings.

I got one up to about 28 before losing interest and deleting the toon.
Soloing close to even con diff was fine, but on teams it got the point that I was getting overwhelmed by mobs too quickly and my heals weren't keeping me alive. Ymmv and all that though.

This combo might actually be my wifes first lvl 50 brute. it is in the high 40's . This character used to decimate missions with ease, but as talked about in here already, late game villain side, its becomming brutal to deal with all the damage comming in. At this stage in the game I have thought about creating a high defense build for it, but considering all the colourful damage that is around this late in the game, I am unsure on what type.
I have come up with 2 builds that look good based on what the powers she wants. I'd love some feedback on it though, as I am more familiar with tanks than brutes.

I have a Scrapper to 50 that is DM/Fire. He is a MONSTER. I run in, hit soul drain, consume, consumption, then fireball. The mob is dead after that. I keep siphon on auto. I also dropped a ton on recharge from IO's on him. Both end tools are up every spawn. He is my favorite scrap I have. I was thinking of running him as a Brute, still might in fact. If you have a troller or dom playing with you that can't run out of your burn patch or blazing aura, enemies die in record time.
Been searching through the thread and haven't been able to find much on a DM/Fire brute. Anyone have any experience with this build?
Seems like it would be a solid solo build that could shine with some IO love later in the game. I know /fire may not be the strongest but should be a fun build.
